@ow leaked this on Twitter a minute ago. Here's a screenshot of the App Store page:
Interesting to see Apple unbundling its pre-installed apps. It's not showing up in the App Store for me yet, but likely very soon.
@rrhoover@ow I hope they unbundle them all. Would be great to get a new iPhone and set it up clean from no apps.

@jmacias@rrhoover@ow Totally agree. The ecosystem of apps is big enough that third parties have definitely surpassed the quality of Apple's internal apps. They should focus on more on core design language. The current flat design needs to really go away.
@jmacias@rrhoover@ow Would be amazing to not have the iOS Mail app opening by default - and be able to choose a default browser!

@jmacias@rrhoover@ow I am not super positive about that, but at least they'll be able to release app-specific updates, instead of having to wait for the system update.
The question of unbundling comes with that of default integration. Will you be able to have the same level of integration with non default apps in iOS?

I think they are going to pre-install the app, but give users an option to uninstall it. The store listing will allow users who deleted the app to re-install it.

I deleted it while on iOS 10. I can't change my default mail client, so now when ever I click on a email it take me to the App Store to download Mail again. Seams like it is still making me have the app to use my email throughout iOS. :(

I hope this pushes apple to actually compete with their apps. There was a day when they were the gold standard. They do great work with the underlying infrastructure, let's hope this pushes up their game with the rest.

This is probably part of the new iOS10.. It seems like it is live now on the App Store but nothing really you can do with it
The app is pre-installed with iOS 10 but you have the option to delete it. One thing I noticed is how third-party apps depend on the default apps to work, for example I deleted the default calendar app, then Fantastical and Reminders stopped working because they required the default calendar app.
