Meridian is a decentralized marketplace for real-world assets on the XRP Ledger. Buy and sell physical goods with protocol-native escrow β funds are locked until delivery is confirmed. Non-custodial. Fractional ownership. Open source.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Wawa, the developer behind Meridian.
I started building this because I wanted to understand what it would take to create a marketplace where the platform genuinely can't run off with your money. Not "trust us, we won't" β but "we literally can't, because the protocol prevents it."
The XRP Ledger has escrow built into the consensus layer. That means payment locks and releases happen at the same level as the ledger validation itself. No smart contract risk, no bridge exploits β just the same infrastructure that processes billions in XRP transactions daily.
Meridian is currently live on XRPL testnet, so you can try everything without risking real funds. I'd love feedback from the PH community on the UX, the escrow flow, and what kinds of assets you'd want to see traded this way.

Thanks for checking it out!
Heres the full breakdown:
Meridian is a decentralized secondary marketplace where real-world assets β physical goods, collectibles, fine art β are tokenized as NFTs and traded with trustless settlement on the XRP Ledger.
The problem: Online marketplaces require you to trust the platform with your money. Chargebacks, frozen funds, and opaque dispute processes leave both buyers and sellers exposed.
How Meridian solves it: Every transaction is secured by XRPL-native escrow with cryptographic conditions. When a buyer purchases, payment is locked on the ledger itself β not in a company's bank account. The seller ships the item, the buyer confirms receipt, and funds release directly to the seller. No intermediary ever holds the money.
What makes it different:
Escrow is a protocol-level feature of the XRP Ledger, not a smart contract that could have bugs or exploits
NFTs represent real physical assets with metadata stored on IPFS
Fractional ownership lets multiple people own shares of high-value items via Multi-Purpose Tokens
Community-driven disputes with voter panels replace corporate customer service
Seller storefronts with on-chain reputation built from verified transaction history
0.5% platform fee β paid only when a transaction completes successfully
Built to make decentralized commerce accessible.
Key Features
Trustless Escrow β XRPL-native escrow locks payment with cryptographic conditions until the buyer confirms delivery. No intermediary holds your funds.
Real-World Asset NFTs β Physical goods are tokenized as NFTs with IPFS-stored metadata. Ownership transfers atomically with payment settlement.
Fractional Ownership β Own shares of high-value assets (art, collectibles, real estate) through Multi-Purpose Tokens. Trade shares on a built-in order book.
Community Dispute Resolution β Disagreements are resolved by community voter panels, not corporate support tickets. Encrypted chat keeps communications private.
Non-Custodial by Design β Connect your own XRP wallet (Xaman, GemWallet, Crossmark, and more). Sign every transaction yourself. The platform never has access to your funds or keys.
