Just installed Meteorite and I love it. I’ve always missed that instant notepad experience from Windows and this brings it back perfectly on macOS. Super fast access, clean UI and smooth keyboard shortcuts. It already fits into my daily workflow.

Meteorite's shortcut-first capture + instant search feels like the right speed. For Apple Notes export, does re-export update the same note or create duplicates? A stable note id, or a markdown folder export, that's what makes local-first tools earn trust.
Cool to see a menu bar app built with Tauri + Rust instead of Electron. Curious what made you go with that stack — was it mainly about keeping the memory footprint small, or were there other tradeoffs that pushed you toward Tauri? Also wondering how the final app size compares to something like an Electron-based equivalent.

Menu bar notes hit different than full apps. I ship TellMeMo (voice memos) and the biggest thing I learned is friction kills capture - if you have to think about where to save or how to organize, the moment's gone. How do you handle the transition from quick scratch notes to stuff you actually want to keep? Do people export to other systems or does Meteorite become the permanent home?
