Hey Product Hunters! I'm Gabriel, software engineer and founder of Meticulous. Thank you @mwseibel for hunting us! You've probably heard of session replay tools like LogRocket, FullStory, etc. We use similar technology but for a different purpose. Meticulous is a tool to catch bugs in web applications with zero-effort from developers. Insert a single line of JavaScript onto your site, and we record thousands of real user sessions. We then test your new code by replaying those user sessions to automatically find bugs for you before they hit production. When you post a pull request, MeticulousBot identifies relevant sessions and replays them on your new frontend code, but without ever causing any side effects or hitting the backend server. This is such a simple, elegant solution to what can otherwise be so chaotic. We just had a large bug in production that, had we been using Meticulous, would have certainly been caught. Congrats @meticulousgabriel !

@meticulousgabriel In my experience (apart from actually shipping) UAT will always do the best job of exposing the "unknown unknowns." Unless I've misunderstood the proposition, this feels like a process that sits at that end of the test chain, automates the discovery process naturally, rather than expecting individuals to hypothesise every user journey that could be taken. I'm not sure if it uses 'internal' user sessions (still QA really, and still based on a test plan), but if it's just applying true, out-in-the-wild user sessions to the new code, then it feels likely to be a powerful discovery tool. I think a hobbyist who is coding in their bedroom is likely to be just as far away from having processes in place or even knowing about CI principles, testing processes or tools like Selenium as someone exploring no-code tools. That doesn't mean they're not catching and fixing bugs all the time, so I think they would immediately understand the value and purpose of Meticulous. If you said "Now you need to set up your unit->integration->SI->user acceptance testing processes" they'd be horrified. At that level, ain't nobody got time for that.
