Definitely a great direction! I do many of my purchases offline, so a tool to combine both offline (scanning receipts) and online, and then nicely categorize and summarize that monthly, would nail it. Will check out the current version and please keep up the good work!

There is no tagging/inbox filtering/ifttt/lightweight automation solution that manages "paper" stuff really well.And I'd be hard-pressed to force someone else to do this for me in 2016, when tech should be able to handle it. BUILD IT AND WE WILL COME. 🌽🌽🌽 Wait. We're already here.

@pqvst another idea. Many accounting apps (like Xero, which I use) have an email address where you can forward receipts. If in addition to the save button was a button that would PDF, name the file usefully and send to a predefined email address this would tick boxes for many users!

@allthingsmarco Yeah, so in the medium story I outline some future ideas that I'd like to build. I mention that I would like to add deeper insights (to extract price/amount) and this could definitely be combined with a "send a monthly statement" (with pdfs of all the invoices) feature. Automatic sync to dropbox/gdrive is probably the thing I personally need the most. So that it just automatically adds new receipts to my accounting folder. The goal would be a service that just runs automatically in the background so you don't have to worry about logging into yet another service. I had to limit the scope for the sake of trying to build an mvp in one week :D
