This is an awesome way to make customers happy (and returning to you) for a relatively low cost. Move over, SaaS... here comes PaaS (postcards as a service).
Where I come from we call this "direct mail" :)
Anyway, I like what you've built but your pricing seems high compared to Lob and old-school direct mail services. Most are going to be in the range of 40-70¢ per card.
You might consider offering bulk/volume pricing OR simply position yourself as the "low volume" or "no minimum" provider in the space. That might be a good niche to tackle.
@callmeed All of your points are very valid. We're thinking Scout is more useful for a marketer who can run a campaign for a few hundred postcards by herself. Even do A/B tests on different groups of addresses (e.g. by zip code). And, we will provide volume discounts. Scout won't even let you send over 5,000 cards by yourself (because we can provide a price break at that volume, and we don't want people paying $1/card at the volume).

Not a bad price point considering stamps are 49¢. This might work for some wedding save-the-dates we're trying to get out the door!
As much as I dislike physical mail, it's still an effective channel for many. We've used MailLift in the past to send handwritten "thank you's" to the PH community.
@rrhoover actually I got one of those letters and it made an impression on me. I saved it on my fridge for awhile. It wasn't our inspiration for Scout, but it was on our mind when we made it and expect Scout to be used for personal projects too.
Very cool! I can easily see this as something like "Greetings from X! We are really happy you are with us..."
This is a nice way to connect our digital products to the offline/physical world.
@mohamed_melege7@jordan We actually -can- support other countries... but the cost will at least double to $2/card (international postage and all). So, we just are keeping it simple for now. But, if you have an overseas campaign you'd like to run... let us know! We can help.
I like this idea a lot! In a (very) former life I was in import-export and goosed sales an enormous amount by sending San Diego postcards to all of our clients in South America.
