Wow, hats off to @_maxdeutsch I Just created a site on my phone and it was incredibly easy. It's not finished just yet bc I only had a few minutes standing in line. Also snagged a pretty good url - iam.somebody.io
Loving it. Subscribed to The Grid, but couldn't be more disappointed, https://app.thegrid.io. Ok, it is still Beta, so will hold my breath a bit longer. IMHO somebody.io provides the beauty of simplicity and the beauty of good design. Congrats!
@_maxdeutsch Part of my daily routine is to check out PH and today you are at the top. As a fellow maker, Intuit employee, and hunter, I wish you nothing but the best of luck and I think this looks awesome.
"In 6th grade, I sold essay-writing software to my friends in the cafeteria. I thought it used artificial intelligence, but it was basically a MadLib on a CD-ROM." - this is one of the best bio openers I've ever seen.
First - the platform looks great, there's no arguing that. With that said, as somebody who has operated in this "similar" space since 2011 with Two Way Resume (twowayresume.com) I have to say I think there's a lot of players. I definitely agree with you that Somebody.io & Cardd.co take these personal websites in an even simpler direction but I'm not sure it's marketable. People still want a feature rich platform to build on. Best of luck to you!
@cabe_nolan Hey Cabe! Thanks for the feedback. We definitely agree that a lot of users want feature rich platforms, but we also think a lot of people don't. We hope we can be the platform of choice for those people. (We certainly aren't trying to win with everybody)

@_maxdeutsch congrats on your new product! Signup & setup is nice and easy. I've a few bits of feedback, but first and most important is the email field: I really want to be able to use a '+' for a special Gmail addy, but it appears to be stripped out when I publish. Other than that: I'd suggest providing some indication of how the photo for header will be cropped/formatted to avoid trial-and-error; I think the line lengths on the bio text is a bit too long for ease of readability (I'd keep it under 75 characters ideally). Looking forward to watching this evolve (and to completing my profile!)
@colinjohnston Hey Colin! Thanks for the solid feedback (We're currently working on many of the fixes you've recommended). Looking forward to seeing how your profile comes together.
