Hi everyone!
For a few years, some friends, my wife and I spent an entire weeks glued to our phones refreshing BC Parks every now and then for some very specific camp spots in some very specific sites. We had one shot at a specific weekend in British Columbia, and everything was booked solid.
For a couple of summers now we thought about having less restrictions about where we camp, and focus in places with a criteria: some place with water tap, shower, and toilet, or something with all that but it's also a double campsite to camp with friends!
That's when it clicked on me: "Hey, we need to focus more about planning trips than find openings!". By the next weekend I built a prototype version of Takibi Spot just for me my friends to have automated alerts on our Telegram for any opening within our criteria weekend over weekend for the next 3 months ahead of us.
That got me thinking: "If I have a desire to just camp anywhere, not a specific place, I guess more people should have that need too!" Turns out, many people actually do.
So I turned that prototype into Takibi Spot. I started with just British Columbia, and then Canada, and now many parks in the US as well. Monitoring over 450+ parks so you don't have to!
We're excited to help people actually get outside and enjoy time in nature instead of stressing about booking. Hope it helps you find your next campting trip!
