Talanoa is your first email messenger. It turns messy email threads into clean, chat-like conversations, removing quotes, signatures and clutter along the way. Turn emails into actionable todos, manage your calendar without leaving your inbox, and use private, on-device AI to search, summarize and write. Connect Gmail, Outlook, iCloud or any IMAP account in one unified inbox. Everything stays on your computer: no cloud sync, no tracking, no one reading your emails.

Hello @bettercallj0hn , glad to see you launching the app on PH !
I'm following Talanoa since the beginning and it's awesome how the app is growing fast. So many killer features that help me to keep my emails clean.
Since I'm using it, impossible to get back to the original Gmail inbox !
Oh and I really appreciate receiving the "new in talanoa" email and I'm always excited to see what's new.
Excited for the future ! Keep going ! :)
@alexandre_borel Thank you! 🙏 Really happy to hear you read the “New in Talanoa” emails, writing them is one of my favorite parts of shipping. And not being able to go back to Gmail was exactly the goal 😄 Lots more coming, stay tuned!
@hikari_watanabe yes! privacy & secure by design. And scalable too ;-)
Congrats on the launch, John. Stripping quotes and signatures is what makes the chat view work, but it is also where email gets tricky. When someone answers inline, typing their replies between lines of the quoted message, does Talanoa detect and keep those interleaved answers, or can they get hidden as quoted text? That case comes up a lot in long threads with lawyers and engineers.
@genedai thanks Gene. You just have to click on the bubble chat to open the full and regular email view and you'll see the full previous message (and potential updates on it) but it doesn't appear by default in the main message.
Create a testing address before you link your main work portal. Processing thousands of messages from old servers locally needs a lot of computing power at the start and could cause the interface to freeze.
So I actually just use this for my neighborhood association group because those people reply all to literally everything. It turns those chaotic chains into something readable, like a group text. The only annoying part is the software keeps trying to make tasks out of people complaining about garbage pickup schedules anyway.
The chat like layout sounds simple but could make a real difference when following long back and forth conversations. Nice approach.
@salmni_gorey Thanks Salmni. Sometimes you don't need AI to create something magical. Just a simple UX tweak can make all the difference ^^
I like the idea of turning long mail threads into something that feels more like a normal chat. That clutter gets annoying fast.
