Are you fine connecting separate tools for auth, payments, billing, taxes, and analytics? Or do you prefer one system handling most of it? Not just because setup takes time, but because every extra service means another dashboard, integration, and possible failure. Asking this cause I think builders should spend more time shipping the product, as long as the backend stays flexible and reliable. But this brings us to another question, when does convenience become lock-in?

@ikram_bagban Thanks Ikram! If Dodo is working well for you and you only need payments, there might not be a strong reason to switch.
The difference is that tiun is much more than payments because you get also authentication, a real customer database and analytics in one backend, at a competitive price.
So instead of adding, paying and keeping several services in sync as you grow, you can run the commercial side of your product on one stack :)

If you’re still relatively early, it can sometimes be easiest to just replace the current setup and move over cleanly.
If you already have a lot of active Stripe customers and subscriptions, it becomes a bit more involved. In that case we usually support the migration gradually rather than trying to switch everything at once.

What kind of SaaS or AI product is tiun best suited for right now?

@fletcher_oliver Thanks Fletcher! Right now, the sweet spot is small, technical teams that want to get from product to business quickly.
That can be pretty much any digital product: B2B or B2C SaaS, courses and education, templates or plugins, AI tools and API access, consulting services, or digital downloads.
Especially if you need auth, subscriptions or usage-based billing, customer management and global payments, but don’t want to build and maintain all of that infrastructure yourself.
We’re probably less interesting if you already have a mature stack with all of those pieces deeply integrated. But if you’re starting fresh or rebuilding parts of your backend, that’s where tiun really shines.
Given that auth, payment, and analytics are all rolled up into one, how flexible is each component in terms of customization vs. having an opinion on its own?

@aymi_malik Thanks! 🙏 We’re intentionally opinionated on some parts, especially where security, reliability and compliance are involved.
Auth is a good example: we have certain flows, checks and information that need to be in place to make sure we cover all states reliably. Today you can choose between light and dark mode, but you can’t fully customize the UI yet.
Payments are similar — there’s flexibility around how you price and monetize your product, but certain parts of the payment flow are standardized because we’re the MoR.
Over time, we definitely want to open up more customization. We just want to make sure we don’t trade reliability for flexibility while doing it.
What I can say is that we have some pretty exciting releases in the pipeline, especially around auth. So there’s definitely more flexibility coming :)

@bdennis11907 Thanks Brandon! Yes — tiun can run alongside your existing stack while you migrate. You don’t have to rip out Stripe, Clerk, etc. all at once.
You can move over step by step and switch individual parts once you’re ready. The exact migration obviously depends a bit on your current setup, so for existing SaaS products we’re also happy to work with you directly on the transition.
We’re building more tooling around migrations as well, so this should get easier and easier over time.
How long would you say it normally takes to get a new SaaS connected with tiun?

Realistically, you can go from setup to being ready to sell in around 5–10 minutes.

If you’re still relatively early and don’t have many existing users, it can actually make sense to just replace the current setup and move over cleanly. That can be done in less than a day.
If you already have a lot of active users and subscriptions, the migration naturally becomes a bit more involved and technical. In that case, we currently support you directly and usually migrate things gradually rather than trying to switch everything at once.
