Yoopta-Editor is a free, open-source rich-text editor built for React apps. It’s packed with features that let you build an editor as powerful and user-friendly as Notion, Craft, Coda, Medium etc.
Hello Product Hunters! 🎉
I'm excited to introduce Yoopta-Editor - a high-level open-source WYSIWYG that allows you to effortlessly build editors like Notion, Coda, Medium Craft etc. Yoopta offers easy setup, customization, and extensibility, alongside the capability to create your own powerful plugins.
This project was born from my own frustrations as a Front-End developer working with various WYSIWYG editors. Despite the prominence of many tools, none satisfied my fundamental needs.
Yoopta-Editor It's not just another rich-text editor. It's a solution designed to overcome common challenges developers face with existing editors that are often limited, despite being labeled as "rich".
This editor will provide you with the following features:
- Easy setup
- Default list of powerful plugins
- Everything is customizable and extensible
- A list of useful tools (ActionMenu, Toolbar etc.) for the convenience of working with the editor
- Drag and drop, nested dnd is supported also
- Automatic lazy loading for media components (eg. image, videos, embeds)
- Selection box for manipulating with multiple blocks at once
- Mobile friendly
- Exports/imports in different formats like markdown, html, plain text
- Every plugin render can be extended with your own UI-kit components
- Large documents
- Markdown shortcuts, hotkeys. And customization for this!
- Nested Ordered, Todo, Bulleted lists
- The soul invested in the development of this editor 💙
... and other features that I forgot to write about in this list 😅. Just check it!

Congratulations on the launch of Yoopta-Editor!
Could you elaborate on the steps required to set up Yoopta-Editor in a new project? Is there any specific documentation or tutorial available to help with the initial setup?
@pavel_bocharov That’s great to hear! One of our main goals was to free developers from low-level element control, which also requires understanding various concepts to use Slate effectively.

This looks fantastic! I used to rely heavily on Novel, which is built on Tiptap, but the latest version has been having issues during initialization. Yoopta-Editor seems like a great alternative. I'll give it a try!
@bonvisions That's great to hear! If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to make sure Yoopta-Editor meets your needs and expectations ˆ-ˆ

Saved to my collection!
Super useful resource and it worked really well in the demo. Already considering how this can be super useful in my product in the future.
All the best today, Yoopta team!🎉
@kelsey_gittens Thanks a lot, Kelsey! The best part is how easy it is to implement a custom plugin with your own data, API calls, etc., to achieve a fully integrated editor that offers an almost immersive WYSIWYG experience! :)
