We're the most caffeinated generation in history, and also the most health conscious.
We already track macros, steps, reps, heart rate and sleep. But there's a hidden variable that effects every single one of these metrics that nobody has even considered.
While I pride myself in Clarity being the first of it's kind, I'm also extremely excited that we are currently building the worlds first data set of verified caffeine products and spotlighting brands for actually knowing the caffeine content of their drinks.
There are some other 'caffeine trackers' in the wild, but they all pull their data from the same available data set which is unfortunately not accurate. Clarity will only feature brands and products that know their caffeine content, this allows you to make truly strategic decisions about your dosing and timing.
This isn't a detox. It's not about quitting. It's a 7-day challenge to understand your actual caffeine habits and how they're affecting your performance. Here's how it works: Days 1-3: Awareness Log every coffee, tea, and energy drink in Clarity. See how much is still active at bedtime. No changes yet, just observe. Days 4-5: Pattern Recognition Clarity shows you the invisible patterns. Late doses. Accumulated interference. Sleep debt loops. Days 6-7: Control Make one timing shift. See the difference. The goal isn't less caffeine. It's understanding what's actually happening and using it with intention, so you can take control. 7 days. Zero pressure. Full clarity. Ready?
Many of us have transitioned to knowledge work and most of us, if not all, rely on caffeine to boost our mental performance. If it weren t so effective we wouldn t drink it. We know caffeine is particularly effective for combating fatigue and improving focus. But what if it could be even more so? The first step is raising awareness about the daily habit we consume without fully understanding its effects and timing. This is where clarity shines this is Clarity s purpose.
The UK's productivity culture is built on caffeine. But almost nobody understands how it actually works. We know caffeine blocks adenosine. We know it has a half-life. But we don't track when we drink it. We don't see how much is still active at bedtime. We don't connect poor sleep to yesterday's 4pm coffee. The result? A culture of perpetual fatigue, masked by more caffeine, creating worse sleep, requiring even more caffeine. It's a loop. And it's invisible. Clarity exists to break that loop not by drinking less, but by drinking deliberately. We're building a tool to change the UK's relationship with caffeine. Because timing matters more than quantity. And awareness is the first step to control.
To all Clarity's new followers, I've been truly humbled by your support. I've been developing Clarity alone for well over 13 months now. To have it be presented and receive such positive feedback has been unreal. Clarity is a long term project, designed to truly change our relationship with caffeine. I can't stress enough, it is not about quitting caffeine. I want to keep an open forum here so that I'm able to engage with people that are interested in the app and more importantly, the vision. If people have suggestions, comments or any questions about the app, I'm all ears. I look forward to hearing from you all - Joe

This week saw the launch of the new 'Explore' tab on Clarity. Explore moves Trends into 1 of 4 pages allowing users to build a better relationship with caffeine.
Trends is as is, but with clean preview of the data.
The Clarity trends feature has been helping me catch up on sleep after a particularly busy period. I'm sleeping more, drinking less caffeine and cutting it off later in the day. I'm using this as a small respite before I begin the big pre-Christmas push to get the reset of the roadmap features out for Clarity.
Clarity is a caffeine tracking app that helps users understand caffeines effect on their body, visualise the peak and taper of it's effects to allow for strategic timing based on mental and physical tasks.
