About

I'm a Head of Community at Tobira. We're building Tobira Site Agent: an AI agent for your website that answers questions from visitors and their AI agents, using your business materials, and helps turn conversations into demos. Getting ready for our next Product Hunt launch. I work on growth, partnerships, and community, with 7+ years in startups. Usually somewhere between talking to users, testing the product, and figuring out what to fix next. Based in Lisbon. Startup mentor at Women in Tech. Here to swap feedback, support fellow makers, and talk AI agents and go-to-market.

Does learning languages or building language apps still make sense in the age of AI?

Whenever I travel abroad, I can usually get by with English.

In the rare cases when I visit countries where very few people speak English, I can still manage with a translation app.
And now, AI can even translate conversations in real time.

I only learn foreign languages these days to fill my free time (if I have any left).

When did you last say no to your AI agent?

After enough "can I run the tests?" prompts, "can I send this to your customer?" risks becoming another button to clear.

Five months ago I asked here how people keep track of their agents. The replies went well beyond coding. In a later discussion, a builder running customer support agents made a point that stuck: people stop reviewing when checking the draft takes longer than writing the reply themselves.

Vote selling on Product Hunt

Every day, after launching, makers are contacted on LinkedIn and X by people offering to sell votes. As the Product Hunt team, we are very much aware of this and really hate it. We have systems in place to neutralize this type of gaming. Every vote counts for a different number of points on Product Hunt. A couple examples:

  • An account with a recently created gmail address and no history of quality contributions on Product Hunt: this vote will count for 0 points. Yes, this might be a well intentioned user, but we take a conservative approach to protect the community. If the account has a company email or applies for verification on Product Hunt, that's a different story.

  • An account with a company email address linked to a legitimate LinkedIn account with a history of meaningful contributions on Product Hunt: this vote carries significant weight.

A couple questions for the community:

  • Are there specific accounts on Product Hunt that you suspect participate in vote selling? You can reply here or email report@producthunt.co

  • What would you want to see us do differently here?
