What do you still do manually, even though AI could do it?

AI can draft a reply, build a small app, or run a routine task. But being able to automate something does not always mean you want to hand it over.

Sometimes doing it yourself is how you notice a problem or understand what someone actually needs.

What year is it for AI at work? (I think it's 1972)

In 1972, five people left IBM to start SAP and the word "ERP" didn't exist for another 18 years. I think AI work tools are at the same stage: lots of products, no shared abstraction yet.

My bet on the missing piece: "conservation of responsibility" every agent action should trace back to a human who authorized it, with an auditable record. Until that exists, AI at work stays stuck in pilots.

Does anybody else keep a decision journal for his/her AI agent?

But already in two weeks into working with Plantlog by Claude Code, I saw that every session was offered to use a different state library by the software without recalling our choice of Zustand.

Therefore, I decided to create an ordinary markdown file called DECISIONS.md, which is to have a single line of information about each of our decisions and another single line of reasoning for that. I copy and paste that file every time we start a new session.
