Our ultra-fast Daily: Three takes on new products. Yesterday’s top ten launches. That’s it.
X, formerly Twitter, has announced that the close-knit, Instagram-like feature circle will be shut down on October 31st. You will still be able to view your old circle tweets but will no longer be able to add people to it or tweet exclusively to your circle.
It’s happening. Elon Musk’s startup Neuralink will begin recruiting for its first human trials, where a robot implants a chip in your brain.
Sorry Musk-eteers, you can’t just volunteer up any brain, Severance-style. The hope is that Neuralink will help people with hard-to-treat conditions. You’ll be eligible for the study if you have paralysis due to cervical spinal cord injury or ALS.
If you’ve raised a Series A and you’re wondering, “What’s next?” Our next webinar on September 27th is for you.
We’ll talk about how to find success on Product Hunt after launch, focusing on growth tactics for finding new customers.. Sign up here.
We aren’t talking about X Premium or Twitter Blue as it used to be known. Speaking in a meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, Elon Musk suggested that X might soon charge its user base, saying, “we’re moving to having a small monthly payment for use of the system.”
Would you pay?
ATT Twitter folk: Have you started calling it ‘X’ yet? According to a recent poll, 79% of X users in the US say they are aware of the change, but 69% of them still refer to the platform as 'Twitter' and to posts as 'tweets.' What about you?
Did you know there’s a secret shortcut to open up LinkedIn on Windows? Try hitting CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + WIN + L and see what happens.
In other news, Google is already throwing shade at the iPhone 15.
ICYMI, Mexico, casually unboxed Aliens this week. The alleged bodies of two “non-human beings” were unboxed during a congressional hearing in Mexico, fueling the fire of Alien weirdness in 2023. One thing was missing, though, the satisfaction of taking off the shrink wrap.
The EU and Apple are frenemies once again. France has ordered Apple to pull iPhone 12 from sales for emitting too much electromagnetic radiation. Not the headline Apple wants to see after its big Wanderlust event, but we’re already headed to the garbage bin with our Lightning cable, so we’ll just pile it in.
Today’s the day. Apple is hosting its yearly iPhone event at 10 a.m PT, and we will be covering it live on our X profile (feels weird to say). What are your predictions? Are we in for a surprise, or will it be much of the same?
Good morning, and welcome to Monday! A new week means new launches. If you’re wondering how to get the best out of your launch, make sure to book our community hours session this week, where the Product Hunt team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
