Very relevant product. Congratulations on the launch!
Can the app be user by both adults and kids?
@emilie_l Thanks a lot for the support! π Quick answer: Currently it's only for adults.
A bit longer answer is that we have only tested and trained our AI for adults. Which means: It most likely won't work for kids yet, in most cases β it needs to be adapted to kids' mouths. However, this would definitely be a great thing to test out, as we all know that building good dental habits is of course key to have in mind from a young age.
If you're up for it, we would love to stay in touch and maybe pull you in for user testing and your ideas on how an app like this would add value as a mom! Feel free to drop us a message at feedback@adent.dk

?makers do you have plans for sharing data captured/knowledge derived from the app with my dentist as supplementary material to regular check-ups?
@anders_holmegaard_tvistholm Great question! And yes, definitely! (assuming that your want to share it β it's of course 100% your data so you also determine whether or not to share). Those seemless integrations between "in chair" visits and what can be derived from home scans are certainly in the plans for the future. We are already working together with some of our dental partners how to create these synergies. If you have anything specific in mind that would be cool to share or have access to from your dentist, don't hesitate to reach out, we would love to hear your thoughts on it

Congrats on the launch! I just did a scann. That was surprisingly cool. It also made me curious what happens to my images: how are you handling the data privacy concerns around an individual's dental health?
@jon_jorgensen Awesome! Great to hear that you liked the scan. That's that cool experience we want to leave everyone with!
To your question on privacy: We take user privacy and data safety very seriously at Adent. We comply with the relevant medical regulations, the GDPR, UK Data Protection Impact Assessment, and Australian Privacy Principles. In essence, we store your data on secure servers (servers are located in a region depending on where you are from to comply to local regulations), and encrypt your data.
If helpful, you can find Adent's Privacy Policy here https://www.adent-health.com/pri... but also feel free to ping us, we are happy to answer any follow up questions! It's an important topic.
@cecilief Thank you for the feedback! Love that you like it!
Great question! The frequency of scans of course vary, but we recommend either one of three plans: every 14 days, 30 days, or 3 months. If e.g. you're tracking how your gum health is progressing after switching toothpaste or you're worried about an emerging cavity then the higher frequency could make sense.
If you're not worried about anything and you're tracking e.g. the level of plaque and tartar because you're planning for your next dental cleaning then the lower frequency might make sense for you. But that said, I personally do it more often to be honest (once a week), because I am just in the habit of taking a scan as part of my dental routines, and can log how something evolved if I notice something out of the ordinary.

This is great. Just did a scan, and very interesting report. Maybe I'm a bit "techy" but I was wondering why the processing time isn't instant and takes a couple of hours?
@peter_bjerregaard_christensen So awesome to hear! Happy that you found it interesting!
Good question! The short answer is: We are still cracking that nut of making it instant, but our latest sprints have seen some major leaps which we hope to roll out soon.
If adding just a bit of technical flavor to it, what we are working on is to bring more of the compute to "the edge" (handled on device) to scale processing during high loads better; and additionally to move more of the backend towards serverless environments also to scale processing time better during high loads. Today we do see some individual parts of our pipeline where single services act as "bottleneck" for the speed of the full pipeline, and that's definitely one of the keys we are addressing in the near future!
