Hi everyone,
Andrew here from MicroAcquire! Startup acquisition marketplace!
MicroAcquire helps startups find buyers. Simple as that. We’ll help you start conversations that lead to an acquisition in just 30 days – for free.
When my company Bizness Apps was acquired in 2018 by a PE firm, it was a bittersweet moment. On the one hand, I’d successfully bootstrapped my company to $10m/ARR+ and a life-changing acquisition. On the other, I’d sold something that took years of blood, sweat, and tears to build. Do I have any regrets? Far from it.
I'm here to answer questions about building your own business, bootstrapping startups, marketing, branding, sales, hiring, startup ideas, acquisitions, and anything else related to startups.

Hi Andrew, just wondering the success rate for startups from Southeast Asia (my startup is from Indonesia) that are looking for buyers? Because over here my visibility as a startup founder regarding acquisitions is quite low. Thank you
Hello Andrew, thanks for this opportunity. I've been a professional motion picture and television editor in Hollywood for nearly 30 years (The Flash, FBI, Once Upon A Time, Sandlot 3, etc.). The entertainment industry is currently in a shakeout phase and work is harder than ever to come by. Prior to coming to Hollywood I did earn a degree in computer systems engineering in 1989. I've dabbled with coding over the decades, but never professionally. But recently with the advent of agentic IDEs I've been able to complete two projects of roughly 50K lines each, using fully typed PHP backend (PHPStan level 8 across the codebase from first line) and frontend using TypeScript with matching contracts, DDD, etc. One runs the charity my wife and I founded and run (PIFster - the Pay It Forward charity) and the other is a commercial idea I'm considering launching here. It's an idea that came to me as a pain-point in motion picture production, but I realized it had universal appeal. At least I hope it does. I'm relatively new to this community and I'm just soaking up what knowledge I can before launching my app, as I'm daring to dream about getting away from Hollywood and the never-ending slog of the entertainment business. I realize there isn't really a question here, yet. I guess, in general, what's your best advice for a single dev launch?
