Built for Devs exists because I productized the service that drove the greatest results I've ever seen in my career.
When I brought the right developers in to screen record themselves naturally trying a client's dev tool, the results were the best I'd ever seen. One client fixed a handful of friction points and hit Product Hunt #1 product of the day and week. Another used insights from 10 developer segments to completely pivot their market in a better direction. The recordings alone kept roadmaps full for months.
The problem: it was brutal to run manually. My developer network is big, but coordinating the right person at the right time on the right channel—that's not a repeatable business. That's chaos.
I knew a year ago it needed to be a product. What I didn't have yet were the AI tools to make it fully autonomous. In February, I realized I did. Gemini now handles video analysis. I wrote a script to capture event logs alongside recordings—actual developer actions, timestamps, every hesitation, every dead end—not just video.
