@outsprung Hi Paul thanks for the compliment. We are a small team so we've been busy working on Cassette for iOS but hope to have Android soon. You can sign up for an early invite here: cassette.design/help/android

Coincidence? Faith? Synchronicity? I believe in that shit so who knows 😊
But in all seriousness, it's kind of funny (see what I did there?) seeing exactly the kind of tool I was looking for within the first 30 seconds of hitting the interwebs.
This Casette 2.0 app is bomb! I hope there's going to be more editing options like slice and dicing recordings or removing noise and adding effects. That would make it nuclear!
Other than that, it's a lovely app with a very user friendly interface and clean design.
Sure, the transcribing might not be perfect yet (although its impressively accurate compared to other alternatives) but I think if they keep working on it, things will only improve and get better.
I wish the makers good luck with their launch and a big thank you for helping the forces of synchronicity do its thang 😂
@fouad_tolaib Thanks for the compliments, we're deeply flattered! We're definitely working on releasing some awesome new features over the next few months including allowing you to crop audio by just selecting text (no waveforms!), editing the transcript to make it even more accurate, and lots more secret stuff! Hope you continue to use & enjoy the app. Please do keep us posted with your feedback since we love hearing from users :)

Apologies for being the grumpy old man, but is this actually working now/yet? I tried cassette when it was first released and accuracy was in the 50% range, i.e not good enough for real world use.
Now, I know and understand how hard it is to make something as complex as transcription work, and other solutions were suffering from the very same shortcomings, but are you guys now at a stage where this is usable?
@andreasduess Hey there Andreas! Sorry to hear you saw low accuracy in the past. We're always working on improving accuracy and will have some more updates in the coming weeks to improve it even further. The transcription you see in the video is a real life demo so it should give you an idea of the accuracy. It's not perfect but it's pretty good for searching audio and skimming through the transcript. Also, since it's an automated transcript, it's instant, inexpensive and completely confidential. Things like accents and background noise do impact accuracy a lot but we regularly hear from users who get as high as 90% accuracy. I'd be happy to send you some free credit so you can try the app again. Can you send me a message?

this looks amazing - any idea how long it will be before i can use my iphone for both calling and recording at same time?
@passingnotes Hey thanks for the compliment. That's a very popular feature request and it'll take be a month or two before we have that working seamlessly. However you can use any of the popular phone call recording apps on the app store. When you are done recording, you can just export the recording into Cassette, then transcribe it. Should work totally as you would expect it to

this would be pretty awesome as a service for podcasters. Would you consider integrating with Auphonic? They already integrate with other voice transcription services but Casette would probably blow the others out of the water
@jonbstrong Hey thanks that's very nice of you. Not sure what auphonic is and will definitely take a look. However you can import audio and video recordings from any app into Cassette and transcribe them. You can also export everything from Cassette to any app. Hopefully you should be able to create a workflow with that but would love to hear more info if you can send me a message
@jonberry Hey thanks! We're a small team so haven't had time to upgrade the app to iOS 11 yet but we obviously will test it thoroughly on iOS 11 before it comes out of Beta.

The idea is good. But can i transcript voices of different people?
@zaharenok Hey it will transcribe everything it hears as one stream of text. We're working on adding speaker detection soon to break up the transcript into paragraphs based on the speaker. The tech for that is quite nascent so we want to make sure it's actually working before we roll it out. However, even a contiguous transcript is great for searching and you can use that to skip to specific parts of the audio.

@preetangad great idea. The main function should work on MVP. And is there are many people paying for it? Sure if it’s not a big secret
@zaharenok Yeah the speaker detection tech out there is currently in a place where we think it's more annoying than useful, even though we consider ourselves early adopters. I think it's something we should be able to get to in the next couple of months tho.
And yes, we have hundreds of people and teams who are currently paying customers and it's growing quickly. A very high percentage of people who have tried transcribing a 30 minute recording for free have then entered their credit card and started paying, so something tells us they like it :)

Great product even without the translation service! I also recommend https://www.producthunt.com/post... as a complementary tool for a later step in the project!
@reachvini Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you like it. Would also love for you to use the free trial for transcription and share your feedback on what you think about that.
