Eddie AI - ChatGPT for video editing

by
Craft rough cuts in seconds. Eddie is your co-pilot that edits interview footage with text prompts. Iterate with Eddie: reverse the topic order, ask for a stronger hook, make this punchier. Then export to MP4 or polish in Adobe, DaVinci Resolve, & FCP.

Eddie sounds like a game-changer for editing—just type in what you need, and bam, you’ve got a rough cut ready. 😎 Wondering though, as you built Eddie to respond to text prompts, did you discover any quirky or unexpected ways people were using it to streamline their edits? Congratulation on the launch !!

@evan_paul thank you so much!! 💪 the biggest surprise to me was how novel it was for people to iterate with Eddie. People are used to input —> output. The end. But Eddie is more like a human collaborator where you can push and pull, change and try. Very natural for creative work. Once users realized the edit was not the end and they could literally ask Eddie to remove the last sentence or pick up the pacing, it was like whooah and their experience/satisfaction increased a lot! 🤯

This looks pro, using, helps me to cut through my long form videos without hiring an editor or doing it myself. I just have to review and add sound design. Voila 🤠 Kudos to the team 🥳

Hey Everyone! Robbie here - Community and Content manager at Eddie AI, and 10 year video content creation vet. I've been a video editor and producer for the better part of 10 years now. I've made commercials for fortune 500 companies, docs for indie houses, and videos for local hardware stores - and everything in between throughout the years. Working as a video professional (especially when running a one-man-band production) can be a struggle. When you're worrying about what lens kit to bring to your next gig, the last thing you want is an email from another client asking, "where's my edit?" Staring down the barrel of hours of raw content can be daunting, and it's sometimes hard to start the ignition when the workload seems so heavy. I've been searching for something like Eddie my entire career, and it's so, so amazing to be on the team that's bringing that vision to life. I was a writer and content producer for PremiumBeat/Shutterstock Tutorials back in the day, so i've covered my fair share of new software come across the scene - and let me tell you, Eddie is unlike anything i've come across in my career. The video that you see up top? That rough cut was done with Eddie. The full take was uploaded to Eddie, and it helped me form the framework for the story I wanted to tell. Then, I exported it to Premiere to give it the polish treatment and the After Effects makeover. Eddie saved me at least 5 hours of work. Whether you're an archival editor looking for a way to parse through large amounts of content, a doc filmmaker looking to start building the framework of your story, or a run-and-gun production house that wants a way to speed up client commentary and collaboration - Eddie is a perfect fit for you. Parsing through hours of raw footage is now as simple as asking a question. If you've got any specific questions about video workflows, i'd be happy to show you how Eddie can fit seamlessly into your production flow! Just like Eddie, my favorite thing to do is help people. So don't be a stranger 🙂 Thank you all for your support during this launch. It's just the beginning!

This sounds amazing! I've had to pause my TikTok/YouTube channel so many times because of how long it takes to edit videos. This could save me a ton of time. Quick question: What does the workflow look like for someone like me using Premiere Pro, especially with raw files that are around 40-80GB? I’m assuming we upload a proxy (low-quality version), make edits using Eddie, and then export the Premiere Pro XML file, am I right? I tested it out with the demo videos and it worked great. I’m excited to give it a try with my own videos soon. Great job, by the way!
