@lyondhur it would be interesting to see this thing broken down, to see what components it has. 🤔

@lyondhur if the facebook android app already requests all information by default , then their own devices will definitely have more ways to get information than just a "camera"

I like the part in the video where they show a flap that can cover the camera. I can just imagine the design meeting where they anticipated that people would want one (as opposed the the post-it note that covers laptop webcams.)

@n_clemmons I like the switch on the LG smart display that covers the camera better. I think this is too easy to misplace.

Does anyone know if Facebook Messenger video chat will be coming to Alexa? Skype will be nice, but I find that a lot more people use Messenger. I also wouldn't be surprised if they created an Instagram version of the device, similar to how apple did the iPhone 5C.

Sorry I think it's cool but not for me😊

I don't know if I can trust FB in my living room...

A stationary video phone? An ipad leaning against a stack of books is superior.

Interesting. I can see how they're trying to stay relevant in the realm of all things IoT, immersive tech and riding the AI/AR wave. I'm excited to see how B2C brands embrace this in order to augment more immersive community/fan experiences (think: possibilities of live chat or podcasts, but on a more personal scale - particularly media/entertainment artists/brands potentially using this as an interactive storytelling platform). Smart that they've decided to integrate *with* Alexa versus try to compete *against* Amazon... And considering the privacy issues they've had to cope with in recent years, I like how they acknowledged it up front. P.S. That parallax zoom effect (on scroll) on their marketing site is pretty trippy.

Baffled as to how this is the 3rd most popular product of the day. Not a good look for FB, especially with everything that's been going on with them in recent months & even the last couple weeks. Oh & the t shaped version, who the f**k designed this thing?

Why. would. you. spend. $200. on. a. screen. that. only. does. Facebook. calls. 🙃
