Fat Lama - Borrow stuff you need. Lend stuff you don't

Do NOT borrow through FatLlama!!! My overall experience with FatLlama has been nothing less than disastrous. It has cost me over 300 pounds in 'additional' fees as well as countless hours lost in disputes. Firstly, I had an issue during a rental during which the lender provided a drone without propellers and asked me to buy some for him! I was forced to visit multiple apple stores during my short holiday to find some propellers, and when I notified the lender that it was all out of stock he attempted to bully me into a partial refund of $20 instead of $90! However, the REAL issue started when I returned his item to him in person. After the lender thoroughly checked the items in person and confirmed his satisfaction of its condition, I considered my rental deal completed. Less than 15 minutes later, I receive a message from the lender claiming that he had 'just noticed' marks and damages to the viewfinder and immediately files for damages through FatLlama. Long story short, FatLlama ignores all evidence about the lender's underhand actions in the previous dispute and proceeds to side with the lender, charging me over 310 pounds in damages I know FOR CERTAIN I did not commit. TL,DR: Fatllama will always protect their lenders first and has absolutely ZERO regard for their borrowers. The lenders on the platform can be downright CORRUPT and will try to extort as money as they can from. FatLlama WILL charge you ridiculous fees and threaten you with debt collectors. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, will never use again.

Worse customer service experienced ever! Not only my listed items did not show in the search, but when I emailed them to report the problem the Shelley girl at customers service was only able to say she would have failed a report to send to their tech. After that I carry on emailing them to have news regarding my issue, none of them came back to me for over a week, until today when I told them I would have cancel my account, a dude came back to me apologising for the late response told me he would had look into my problem and came back to me ASAP (that was 5 hours ago) since then I haven’t heard nothing again. I have then decided to delete my FatLlama account for the simple reason that if they are not so active as customer service for such a small issue, I can’t imagine how can they be if something goes wrong between you and your borrower. I have read many bad reviews, and is really not worth the pain. Friends have got their item stolen and they have done nothing in repaying the back, God knows if they even have an insurance. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT rent on this site!

I have a projector that I've rented out a few times on the platform. The lending process has been pretty seamless and I've made back about half the cost of the projector which is class. After that, I borrowed a drone when I was going on holiday to Spain, just outside Barcelona and I got some really cool shots and it was really good value. Very cool product, hope they spread to other countries

I lend out my scooters here and make a decent bit of cash on the side. App is getting better every week and is the only way I use the product.

Fat llama is one site where you will find old non working items when you rent them the owner will make a claim against you and the platform will start taking money out of your account. Please stay away if you don't want to wake up to an empty bank account. You will regret borrowing or lending you have been warned. Don't expect a contact from them before they try to deduct hundreds of pounds from your account without calling you or messaging you. Bunch of cowboys.

I use fat llama regularly to rent out my DJ equipment! Absolutely perfect, they've paid for themselves and have allowed me to buy some lighting and speaker upgrade. Customer service is always on point, I never have to worry when strangers pick up my kit thanks to the support Llamas.
