I could use a human conversation right now. It's free. Yours, very expensive. Why?

The problem here is a bunch of millennials doing the typical "first world" problem solving. The basic assumption is all wrong. The assumption that people are machines that should work 40 hours/week (or more) but get distracted so their real productivity is only XX hours/week thus doing admin tasks is actually costing them a lot of money. The truth is we all work in spurts of productivity (after all, lots of Pomodoro timers/apps have shown up) and we need downtime. Even if it is "prime time" at work, we have time where we are not productive. Doing admin work like making a reservation isn't losing 30 minutes of our time; it is a 30 minute diversion that would otherwise be used walking around, hitting the break room, or maybe social networking (in person) with peers. Thus, the "opportunity cost" this service and others like it are pitching is false - our slack time to do these tasks is a sunk cost of zero dollars; not an incremental expense that can be outsourced more cheaply.

@spivr i am not sure i agree (i guess obviously)... the macro problem we are solving is figuring out how you as an individual can focus on the most important tasks / things you care about and outsource everything else. we are also, in doing this, building a system that allows people to do the most 'human' human work and outsource the most repetitive non-human work to machines... to be a bit silly for a second, what we currently do in knowledge work is the equivalent of doing construction work without power tools.... if you were on a construction site and told the workers they couldn't use electric drills, cranes, etc. and had to build by hand they would revolt! same is true here.

Too pricey. This needs to be outsourced to an Indian call center made $19.99 a month.for all basic requests. With certain requests being per use. Well now we need someone to come out with this type of service and make it right ala Apple. Perfect what others created.

Fin has placed an order with Kotn before and even followed up for shipping details since the customer was only in the country for a week. Insanely impressive.

@benjaminsehl HAHA that was me :-D @lessin ... i frequently try to define "annoying edge case customer"

@lessin I’m amazed by the amount of price point messages - not everyone could afford the model 1 and needed to wait for model 3... same for Fin as your cost per task comes down over time. Kudos for keeping the quality high and perfecting the product.

Thanks for the fabulous video. SO pleased to see Fin's success. Will keep recommending it. In my newsletter this week.

Pros:

The Fin Video is so good - breaks down how it can be used - real eye opener

Cons:

Pricing (a friend uses it) though this makes sense for the level of service - hope it can reduce in time / with more AI/ML etc

They were completely USELESS for certain tasks and OVERCHARGED for the minimal tasks. There is no way for the user to question the minutes spent on and they PAD THEIR BILLS. It does NOT take 15 minutes to make a reservation. They did NOT visit over a thousand websites in order to suggest that I visit the Louvre when I go to Paris. They were able to order a few items but did not provide order info or tracking without me asking (which I then had to pay for!!! DO NOT GET FOOLED!!@!!

Pros:

quick to respond and sometimes helpful

Cons:

OVERPRICED and NO ACCOUNTABILITY

Armando Castillo

Fin, if you are listening please cancel my account and stop sending me invoices.

Pros:

Quick to respond

Cons:

Expensive, have been trying to cancel my account but still have not been able to.

I use Fin primarily for scheduling meetings, booking reservations and flights. Fin remembers my preferences, is really easy to use and saves me hours each week.

Pros:

Scheduling Support, Remembers preferences, 24/7 assistance

Cons:

Only integrates with google calendar - Not an issue for me but something to be aware of.

I love Fin for the tasks that I don't want to complete. Fin is always doing work efficiently and quickly. They've provided quality work each time.

Pros:

They take care of things nobody wants to do. Fin is efficient and often thinks outside of the box to get things done quickly.

Cons:

It takes some time to learn how to "Fin." But within a week, if you set up your preferences correctly, it's amazing and efficient!
