Vital for those of us who spend countless hours on the PC. I actually think this is needed more than ever, because more sites have so much white space now, which increases the brightness and without flux can lead to headaches and migraines even quicker.

As alternative, macOS Sierra 10.12.4 (currently in beta) now has Night Shift build in.

This is beautiful: so gentle on the eyes during the evenings. I've been suffering from migraines lately and I feel this might just get rid of them as I do tend to work late. Thanks guys :)

It is a really good application to protect my eyes
Pros:
feel better when looking at the screen
Cons:
some actions may make the screen switch from yellow to white quickly

Great application and so simple to activate/deactivate, I've been using it for years. I think this is good for my eyes especially as I spend lots of time on my computer in the evening.
Better disable it if you are watching a movie or working on photo/image/video!

f.lux knows what your eyes like, more than you do
Pros:
You probably have night shift on your Mac already, but f.lux does it better.

Been a user of Flux for a very long time now and I can't think of a better alternative.
Pros:Saves my eyes.
Cons:Can't really complain if it actually saves my eyes.
