This product truly helps me throughout the day and it really helps eye strain.
Pros:
I really enjoy their "set it and forget it options" so I don't have to interact with the settings on the daily basis.
Cons:
So far the developer is spot on and I have no complaints. :)

I've been using f.lux for about 4 years and I love it. I now hate using a screen without it as I find it too harsh. I like that it auto-adjusts depending on time of day, environment etc. but you also have the flexibility to change settings yourself to make it comfortable.
Pros:
Helps my eyes on a long computer stint
Cons:
If you forget you have it on and doing colour-sensitive work
Really great app. Super minimal and straight forward experience. Once opened, the app works from the top menu bar of macOS. There are a ton of adjustments you can make from there. You can chose from one of the preset settings or you can customize your own settings until you’re comfortable. Once you do, you never have to worry about the app again. Your eyes will be saved, and on top of that you might even help other people out as well because when f.lux kicks in, people notice and ask me where they can download it from. So I definitely recommend this app, especially to anyone who works at night!
P.S. Feature request: a shortcut button that allows me to view my screen normally, while I’m holding those buttons down. I’m a designer, so colors are important to me but I don’t want to have to open the app, disable f.lux and then reenable it again. Just quickly/temporarily turn it off, and once I let go of those buttons it turns back on.
Pros:
It’s like Apple’s Night Shift feature...but on steroids! The temperature adjustability settings are powerful and scheduling works perfectly!
Cons:
There a preset settings there - I wish the benefits of those settings or the reasons why they were chosen were clear. They seem arbitrary.

Been using f.lux consistently since my friend recommended it to me. Great thing about it is that
- It lets you adjust the color temperature if their default settings don't work, but in most cases the default settings are spot on
- It has 3 presets and allows you to have custom colors
Generally its a great product so much so I didn't switch to the default mac app to adjust color temps
Pros:
Transitions almost perfectly!
Cons:
Nothing!

Working almost all of the time and every night, on my computer, I find f.lux really helps me with winding down and preparing for sleep . The option to disable is great when I need it , however rather than creeping in like the filter does normally, it’s accellarated and comes in too quick becoming a distraction which leads me to go for the disable option again, being on Mac it does mean I notice the time a little more but it’s an hourly disable and another hour of bright white light keeping me awake . Quarter of an hour or half hours would be beneificial as well.
Hi,
I just published a nice alternative to f.lux here in ProductHunt
https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Gives you the ability to add third transition time. Select a list of programs to pause the colors and works with DisplayLink monitors.
Comparison article between Iris and f.lux can be found here

I really like how the mouse pointer glows at night.
Pros:
Tells you when sunset is, when you are going to wake up (how many hours); adjusts monitor brightness perfectly
Cons:
None

Love the tool, you set it up once and works well. Easy to turn on & off when you want to. It also reminds me to go to sleep when it's late at night and i'm not concentrating on the time.
Pros:
Easy set-up, works well, reminds me to go to sleep
Cons:
Non expect the usual effects of changing saturation of your screen.
