Related: I use Bandsintown to get notified when my favorite artists are performing in SF.
Andreas Mahringer
@rrhoover love @bandsintown and @songkick, they do a great job at that. I'll happily invite you to our iOS app as well Ryan, where we also drop you a message when your artists release e.g. on YouTube or Soundcloud - this feature will come to the bot soon! Let me know what you think! Record Bird for iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/...

Hi Andreas! What technology did you use to analyze user questions?
arnold graf
@tanja_unterberger Finally, someone who cares! After pondering a few options (including wit.ai, etc) we went with a semi-homegrown solution: a natural language programming library (nlp_compromise) for stemming, part-of-speech-tagging (grammar), conversion of certain types (such as time), and named-entity-recognition (for genres, artists etc), and a set rules to decide on a type of answer based on said analysis. We might after all end up with a solution that employs both symbolic AI and machine learning for the task, but for now this approach seems to fit our users pretty well!

please scan spotify. there is there a lot more artist than anywhere else i track already. very smart bot. set it and forget it.
Andreas Mahringer
@ourielohayon Hey, thanks for that input. If you want to check out our iOS app (http://recordbird.app.link), it already features this functionality. Once imported, we can also send you notifications via the bot. On top, the app offers even deeper functionality, like videos and tracks on SoundCloud etc. Let me know what you think! :)
