Ask the PH team anything: Launching on PH

by
Hi everyone!! In case you haven't heard, in a couple of weeks we're trying something new: hosting an event to share everything you need to know about how to launch on Product Hunt. We'd also like to incorporate answers to the most common questions from the community, so here's your open call to ask us anything in the comments below! To join the event on August 16 at 9am PDT, go ahead and register here: https://events.producthunt.com/e...)

@anat_mr Welcome :)

Very excited!

What are some successful traits & commonalities among the most successful launches?
Aditya
@gabe you HAVE to be a part of the event. We've researched a lot to dig some really cool stats - excited for the event!

I liked Dru's tip buried in one of his replies in his recent AMA...launch early in the month. Seems a fundamental trick that is at the same time unfair as not everyone can launch on early days of the month. So my question would be what does PH do to prevent gaming generally to keep this amazing resource pure (as can be)?
Aditya
@simon_s_j Really nice question. Looking forward to your participation :)
David
Sounds great!

Nice! Will the event be recorded and shared afterwards?

@chrismessina also concerned about this. Would like to see a recording if I can't visit.

Oh, we're only planning to launch here. And this is exactly what we need - a great opportunity to learn more about the platform and mechanics. And that's what I want to ask. How does a successful launch at PH affect the future of the project? Are there any statistics and correlation? 😉 Thanks guys!

Very new to this process can you go over the difference between shipping and launching and the benefits of each and maybe both together
