We're all different. For some people, coming up with new ideas (products) is a system. For others - inspiration.
Let's share the experience π

Hey @sveta, The best product comes from the issues people are facing nearby you. Start thinking how best can you solve the problem for 1 person and then regulate if for mass

I think the most contributing factor is when we look for what is missing in the product, what is the problem that can be solved using the new feature.
Hi Sveta, that's such a great question!
If you already have a product, then conversations with your users and hearing what they actually need is one of the best ways to come up with ideas for new features. That way you make sure you're building something people in your product space really need.
Product Analytics by using tools like Hotjar is another great way to understand how people use your product and what they are struggling with.
If you don't already have a user-base, then inviting people within your target audience for customer development interviews is great.
The way I've come up with ideas for products in the past has been:
1) Encountering a problem in my everyday life
2) Defining that problem and thinking of + researching a solution for it 3) Doing market and industry research
4) Interviews/conversations with people to understand if there are other people out there but me who would like a solution to this problem.
On top of all the good practices (users feedback, competitors, etc) what I do is to run an hypothesis driven process and it yields ideas. For early products, you usually have a general idea of a direction. Hypothesis are used to explain the delta in between the expected user behaviour or engagement and the actual result. Most feature have a role to play to reconcile the general user behaviour vs expectation for success. This process tend to produce feature requests aligned with the goal instead of "would be cool if" features.
Hope it's clear, I can produce real life examples if not! :)

Well, beta testing is what helps us understand the requirements of the consumers and come up with those features.
Love this question.
For me, it works best to look for issues that I personally experience. Not only because it is "easier" to find a solution because you fully understand the problem, but also because you are building it for yourself in the first place.
The latter helps you stay motivated in the long run too.
And, if the product fails, you still solved your own problem π₯³
I think as idea makers and entepreneurs we have to be like a social benefactor to the people, so trying to solve any problem i think could be the answer

I've encountered lots of different ways depending on the product. Everything from team workshops to market research. But the two I've found most successful are external and internal: customer conversations and personal meditation.
Hi Sveta,
My opinion as a product designer, I believe usersβ feedback can help to decide the next feature for a product. Though the features may be a part of your plan for future updates, the feedback will aid in a better presentation and user experience.
By the way, I'm launching a product soon for anonymous reviews in the workplace, kindly check it out
