How do you market a product when you hate marketing?

by•

I am not really big on promoting myself or what i do, but in this day and age you can have the best app/idea on earth and if no one will get to it then it's nothing. So what do you do? How do you promote? on a budget.

i think distribution gets easier when the product gives people something worth sharing. A useful free tool, template, or small feature can bring attention without me having to promote myself every day.

Partnerships are another route I’d consider. Finding someone who already has the audience I need could be much more effective for me than trying to build an audience from zero

content would probably be my lowest cost option. I’d rather write about a specific problem I understand and mention the product naturally than create generic promotional posts.

What kind of product are you building? I’d probably approach marketing very differently for a developer tool, consumer app, or B2B product, especially if the budget is close to zero.

I wouldn’t try every channel at once. I’d pick one place where potential customers already spend time, test a few approaches, and keep doing whatever actually brings conversations or sighups

On a tight budget, I’d focus on direct outreach, useful content, communities, and referrals before spending money on ads. I’d want some evidence that people care about the product before paying to put it in front of more people.
