How do you plan your day?

byβ€’
I believe that it's important to remember that we only have 24 hours in a day, and essential to use this time wisely by planning and organizing our activities. What are you doing to plan your day? Do you use any tool or follow specific methodologies?

Before going to bed I planned every thing for tomorrow what I will do in my notebook .

So many great approaches here. I'm such a big fan of time blocking and doing so the night before. Nothing is better than starting Monday morning with a clear plan for the day already in place!

I have a visual representation of my longer term goals that always ties back into what I will achieve in a day. I try and plan the night before I go into relax mode to get a jump start on the next day. I use a pretty simple template. Try to limit my day to 10 things, I basically design the day I want to have so I do include items that is like a reward for grafting on some complex tasks. I prioritise by 3 thing, deep work, admin and fun

I'm trying to keep my days as predictable as possible with chunks of focussed time. Cooking and biking are important moments away from the keyboard. It allows for thinking or have a chat with colleagues. No tools but a notebook and calendar. Looks something like this: 8:30 bike to the office, make coffee, check news, list to-do's 9:00 catch up with messages / emails (~ meeting) 10:00 deep / focussed work 12:00 cook / have team lunch 13:00 deep / focussed work (16:00 meetings / calls if absolutely necessary) 17:00 review to-do's + update team (async) -- 17:30 bike home / pick up kids 18:00 - 20:30 family time -- 20:30 - 22:00 reading / deep creative work

@marcel_schouwenaar Grate schedule Marcel! What about your work sessions, how do you manage your tasks?

call me old school but I like a good old pen & make a list first thing in the morning. Thereafter, organize time slots for the various activities. Make sure you leave time for all the chaos that occurs throughout your day.

@gabriel_shin I love pen and paper, nothing gives me that feeling, but could not keep going every day though, and if I want to take a look back, there is a mess behind me πŸ₯²

Doll Museum A doll museum is a museum that displays dolls as a form of art or as historical artifacts. These museums may have dolls representing different time periods, cultures, or styles. Doll museums can be a fun and educational experience for people of all ages. Many doll museums also have interactive exhibits where visitors can play with dolls or participate in doll-related activities.https://northlandz.com/blog/mass...

I'm personally not a micro-planner. I mentally follow the Eisenhower matrix a.k.a. 'Urgent vs Important' matrix. I just jot down the tasks in Google Sheets and prioritize them. I have all kinds of planner apps but for some reason just gravitate back to Google Sheets, probably because I use Google Docs a lot. Now I'm about to start using Notion, so....

@pravin_h I love Notion, but something keeps me away for the daily plan.

I just follow the calendar and prepare mentally before each session and proceed. I try to stay in the present and not overthink upcoming tasks.

Start with a cup of cold coffee in the morning. 1. Check to-do-list 2. Prepare & take note on task manager app (Asana/Trello) 3. Prioritize deadline & schedule in calendar 4. Take a small break and list out important notes for personal issues that might interrupt the work routine (I think this is important for balancing between work & life) 5. Walk to MRT & start to work.

GTD + Evernote is a great combination.
