Sleep. The most underrated productivity hack.

byβ€’
While remote working, we all have had numerous discussions around the importance of sleep, and read many articles about the benefit of sleep, but do we sleep well? I am a person who needs 8 hours of sleep every night to function. I always thought that was such a waste of time. I envied others who could just sleep for 5 hours and still be ok until I read the book 'Why we sleep'. (I might now agree with everything in the book. but that's beside the point) Are you consciously trying to sleep better? Or you already do? How many hours of sleep do you manage to get daily?

It's so different across people. I need no less than 7 hours of sleep a day in the long run (also I'm capable to stay productive for a several days while sleeping 5 hours a day, or even less). At the same time, I know people who sleep significanly more or significantly less. It's reported Churchill used to take a nap after lunch (although it seems he slept very littly at night).

For sure, never try to cut on sleeping time.

I usually sleep for 7h, but the time depends. If it's a busy day tomorrow I might sleep less, or if it's a chill day I might even sleep 12h. Besides 7h sleep almost every day I have nap times, mostly after training.

Have you tried to study chemistry?? You will surely feel dizziness just in a few minutes.

Yeah right! You need to hit that refresh button to relax your mind. An underrated productivity hack for sure.

For example, we now have 6 o'clock and I'm already working :)

Well, it seems that polyphasic sleep is also a good hack. The polyphasic sleep method consists of reducing the hours of daily sleep by spreading small periods of sleep throughout the day. Many people who have experimented say they have achieved more productivity than by following a normal nightly sleep cycle.

If you are sleeping more than 30 minutes per night you are not trying hard enough. #hustle

Definitely. I always notice the difference when I have a lack of sleep.
