Sleep. The most underrated productivity hack.

byβ€’
While remote working, we all have had numerous discussions around the importance of sleep, and read many articles about the benefit of sleep, but do we sleep well? I am a person who needs 8 hours of sleep every night to function. I always thought that was such a waste of time. I envied others who could just sleep for 5 hours and still be ok until I read the book 'Why we sleep'. (I might now agree with everything in the book. but that's beside the point) Are you consciously trying to sleep better? Or you already do? How many hours of sleep do you manage to get daily?

As I've gotten older, I've definitely started to realize the importance of sleep. I try and aim for 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Anything less or more than that, and I'll be exhausted and not as productive.

Hello, Deepa, I am pretty much like you in this sense. I need my 8 hours of uninterrupted good night sleep; ideally waking up naturally and not by an alarm to feel fresh and productive the next day. However, I am overthinker, so my struggle lies in actually falling asleep. Do you have any tips on that ?

You're right, that's what works best, and it's strange that many people miss these points. You should think about your schedule to get the best sleep and recover well after every day. Rarely do I use sleep aids when I have trouble sleeping
