What do you look at after the launch-day spike fades?

I've been trying to understand how fellow SAAS builders measure the longer-term impact of a launch.

Upvotes tell you that people noticed your product, but they don't necessarily tell you whether it solved a problem well enough for someone to keep using it. Right?

I'm curious about how you evaluate that gap. Do you focus on returning users, conversations with new customers, paid conversions, or something else?

Especially interested in how you decide what to improve after the initial attention dies down.

I’d look at activation first. If people sign up but never reach the point where they experience the main benefit, I’d improve onboarding before adding new features.

id watch how many people come back on their own without a reminder from you. upvotes fade but a repeat visit with no nudge says the problem was real. also worth asking the few who stuck around what they almost left over
