I launched twice this year and got 3 upvotes total. Here's what I actually got wrong.
Two launches in 2026:
HalalNear.me (Feb): a halal restaurant directory, 1,700+ verified listings across 8 cities. 3 upvotes. Zero comments.
Has anyone tried using Product Hunt to build their community here?
Hi everyone We had some good momentum and amazing customer support during our PH launch. Now I m exploring how to keep that momentum going and actually build a community here (instead of defaulting to Slack or Discord). How do you move beyond just initial discovery and engagement?
Has anyone tried using Product Hunt itself as the community hub for your product? Any tips on how to approach this?
I ve found this community very vibrant and helpful, especially if your ICP is early stage founders and builders. I d love to learn how others have deepened that connection and grown their community right here.
Is there a tool that sends weekly status reports automatically?
Good subreddits for Makers, SaaS & Startup founders, Marketers and Entrepreneurs
More and more, my friends on Twitter are sharing their Reddit successes. They
either have decent "vanity metrics" but also brag about getting real
customers.
I have a few subReddits where you can create a discussion around your products
(I am sharing them below) but do not recommend doing "salesy" marketing. Just
take it like a space where you exchange experiences and ideas because
trustworthy and connections are done this way. Otherwise, you are banned :)

What I Learned From Launching My First Wellness App
I recently launched my first wellness app, Momentia, a mindful journaling app designed to help people check in with their moods quickly. It s been a rewarding (and humbling) experience, and I wanted to share a few lessons that might help other makers in this space:
Simplicity wins. People don t want a complicated system when it comes to journaling or mental wellness. Small, consistent actions matter more. I discovered this both in my own wellness journey and from early test users.
Community > marketing spend. The most valuable traction so far has come from engaging with communities like this one, not ads.
Your own habits matter. I ve found myself becoming the best test user using the app daily gave me insights I d never get from wireframes or specs.
Feedback is gold. Early testers and even casual users often highlight things I would ve missed as a builder. Just the other day, an early adopter gave me unsolicited feedback in a casual conversation and it turned out to be incredibly valuable.
Launching something in the wellness space has reminded me how important it is to keep things human and approachable. Momentia started as an idea to help me, and I can only hope it helps others, too.
What should be the relationship between the CEO and the team's employees [COMPANY CULTURE SETTING]
What I like about tech culture or marketing is that it tends to be more relaxed. At least in my experience, I ve always had a very open and friendly relationship with CEOs.
But the bigger the company, the more distant the CEO tends to be from the team members.
(For example, it s much easier to remember everyone s name in a flat structure with 14 people than in a large corporation where a manager manages a manager who manages someone else and has dozens of people under them. You get me.)
What's your process for finding out if an idea has potential?
Hey folks, I read 'Make' by Peter Levels years ago and found his process quite interesting:
Spending a week listing your personal problems,
Rank them, then look for solutions for the top three.
If nothing meets your needs, build it.
The beauty of this is that simply by doing the exercise, you end up meeting some of your needs by discovering something out there.
Why did you start creating?
I m just a week away from launching my first product on Product Hunt. Super excited, super overwhelmed and last night, I found myself wondering: "How all this started?"
Truth is, I ve always been a restless soul (or as we say in Spanish, culo inquieto) once I ve learned everything in a role, I get bored. So I build. Not out of ambition, but out of a need to keep learning and growing.
How to get visitors from PH?
How to get visitors from ProductHunt? It seems everyone is trying to promote their own product but the offer is really overwhelming. It would take a full time job just to test all the services launched in a day. How do you founders do that?
When you change how something works, do you go back and fix the posts?
I changed how signup works on my thing about a week ago. Four of my own published videos still describe the old behaviour, word for word, and I only noticed because I went looking for something else.
They're not badly written. They were accurate when they went up. The policy moved and the back catalogue didn't, and there's no mechanism anywhere that would have told me.
Two ways out that I can see. Unlist them, which costs me the small amount of reach they still pull and leaves holes in the history. Or retitle and rewrite the descriptions, which keeps the view counts but means the thumbnail and the first frame still say the old thing, because I'm not re-editing four videos over a copy change.
I went with neither so far, which is the honest answer. They're still up.
