I have started noticing that clients rarely announce when something is going wrong. They just get slower to reply, or their questions get shorter, or they stop asking about the thing they used to ask about every week. By the time someone actually complains, the real damage happened weeks earlier and everyone just called it a busy season. I am curious what the earliest tell has been for other founders, the one signal that in hindsight always shows up before the complaint does. What is yours, and did you catch it in time or only see it afterward?
We found out about six weeks in. Not churned, not unhappy, not complaining. Had simply never logged in and sent a single thing.
The uncomfortable part was that nothing in our own dashboard told us. We were watching signups and revenue. Both looked healthy. Usage was the number that actually mattered and it was the one nobody had put on a screen.
I launched a product just the other day and several people have told me they've upvoted it, but those upvotes either never appear on the page or disappear shortly afterward. I'm aware Product Hunt has anti-fraud systems, but these are genuine supporters. I'm trying to understand whether this is expected behavior, a delay in vote processing, or something else. Has anyone else experienced this during a launch? If so, did the votes eventually return, or did you need to contact the Product Hunt team? I'd appreciate hearing about your experience or any advice. Thanks!
I spent a long time telling myself I did not need to hire for this, because the actual tasks, calls, invoices, client updates, were still things I could do myself. What changed my mind was not running out of time to do the work, it was realizing nobody, including me, could tell me which of it mattered most on a given day without me first spending an hour just getting oriented.
I am curious whether other founders considered a similar hire before they technically needed one, someone whose whole job was watching and pointing rather than doing, and what finally tipped you from thinking about it to actually looking for that person.
I ve been reviewing several SaaS apps recently and noticed an interesting trend. Over the past few years, ultra-minimalist UIs with empty white spaces were dominant. However, newer products seem to be bringing back data-dense dashboards with instant analytics and quick-action toggles right on the main screen.
As makers and builders, do you think users are getting tired of searching through sub-menus for basic features, or is minimal still the way to go for better conversion? Would love to hear your thoughts or recent experiences!
I launched grillr 3 months ago, when it was a raw MVP, terrible ui and ux, had no good elements, and my launch went terrible, i thought product hunt was a random directory so i put an AI description and no product screenshots. And i didnt market my launch at all, no posts, nothing. Now in 3 months im looking to go again, but before i do id like to hear from you guys, what makes a good product hunt launch? differentiating yourself from the launches that get 5 upvotes to the ones that get 200+ upvotes.
When I launched @canitbebuilt for @OpenAI Day, I was simply excited to share something I'd been building as an indie maker in my spare time.
I never imagined it would be selected as one of the five winners from more than 400 GPT-5.6 launches. Thanks to the OpenAI and Product Hunt judges for selecting canitbebuilt as one of the five winners of OpenAI Day. Thanks to @rohanrecommends for hunting canitbebuilt and to @abbas143official for the support throughout the launch!
And most importantly, thank you to everyone in the Product Hunt community who tried the product, left feedback, commented, and shared it. Every interaction made it better.
Lately I ve noticed a shift back towards feature-rich dashboards instead of super clean, empty UI templates. Modern SaaS apps seem to be bringing back more status toggles and analytics right on the home screen. As users or builders, do you prefer a super clean interface or having all major controls visible at once?
