@cloudolive awesome! definitely check it out, we're offering a promo code so you can try our Pro plan (which has the monetisation features) for free this month. if you want to discuss or have any issues, feel free to drop me an email (jeevika@toproad.ai)!

Congratulations on the launch!!! The idea of allowing AI builders to monetize their creations directly is brilliant. This could really foster a more vibrant AI development community. @jeevika_makani

So now we just trust random tools to handle payments, what could go wrong, seems risky without any proper security checks, just saying

Not sure if folks really need another tool that pushes GPTs with in-chat payments, might be cool for some but feels a bit like trying to milk the system, hope it doesn’t end up just cluttering the store and making it harder to find quality stuff. 🤷‍♂️

I found this while browsing randomly and honestly I'm not sold on the payment part, so many people might hesitate to pay for what was supposed to be free initially, and though the features sound promising, I'm wondering how this will impact the quality of GPTs long-term if it's all just pay-to-upgrade, but curious to see how others feel about this 💭

@cavaleadership interesting, do you think the GPT market will be fundamentally different from how the Apple app store played out? Generative AI is expensive to run, so someone somewhere has to pay for it. From our understanding of the market so far, ChatGPT alone isn't enough of a driver for widespread adoption of Plus accounts, and so these apps are carrots to get people to upgrade to Plus. It could be that GPTs drive payment, or perhaps users pay OpenAI higher amounts for their base level subscriptions, and get access to apps for free. We don't have a crystal ball so can't know which way, but we're betting on the former, but we'll move with the market if it becomes clear that our hypothesis doesn't hold. Regardless, it's an interesting and evolving space!

Very interesting idea here but does adding payment options really solve the bigger problem of GPTs not working to a high enough standard, feels like a band-aid solution, also wondering if needing a PayPal account will be a dealbreaker for some users
