Not family friendly pricing. Charges $10 extra per child which can take a $35/night booking and make it $65/night.

Hipcamp is AMAZING! Booking campsites used to be like going to the DMV. They've made it so easy to find and book the exact type of adventure you want (Firepits? Kayaking? Bathrooms?). We've also used it to book some super unique properties--like a massive treehouse near a new, I shit you not, litter of puppies--that Airbnb would kill to get their hands on. So very excited to see the iPhone launch. Keep up the great work, Hipcamp!

Love the idea and glad to see it's growing. Any plans to go international with the latest round of funding?

Yeah, I know this app. Using it sometimes when I'm going camping. Usually, before a new trip, I'm using two apps - hipcamp and a website https://www.brightcamping.com Both are very good for me and I trust in their reviews for 100%. With the help of bright I'm buying equipment for my camps because they have many reviews for different shops and I've found one with good prices. I like very much to camp on my cross bike. Yeah, maybe I cannot pass everywhere but it more interesting for me and I get real fun. I've modernized a little my moto for carrying more baggage.

Lets be clear , I paid $140 to camp at a farm in montana. Upon arrival the owner of said farm had zero knowledge of anyone comming out to stay & hadnt been notified or paid by Hip camp.. As we contacted hip camp theough email to explain the situation they refused to redund & keep every cent of our money.. Not to mention we are one of many people who spent money to stay & they have not payed the owners of the property a cent ,even after the owners reached out to them. If the issue is not resolved accordingly you will be hearing from my lawyer..

I just paid 40 dollars to camp on someone's backyard overnight...and I feel like a fool. This is the last time I am using HipCamp. I'm going back to using traditional campsites with experienced managers. No WiFi, no access to showers or toilets, mediocre views, and it was not easy to find on either Google or maps.me. I did not have a good time at all. The location that was supposedly award-winning and voted a finalist for best sites in Wisconsin. Yet I had a terrible time. With my first AirBnb stay, I was given a discount, but that wasn't even an option with HipCamp.

Unlike every other booking website in the world, if you make a reservation, you cannot get a full refund even if you cancel only five seconds later. Some reservations are hundreds of dollars. It is ridiculous that HipCamp is so rigid, it is very hard on the camper who may not be able to afford paying hundreds just because they had to change a reservation five minutes after booking. AirBnB, airlines, literally every other booking company complies by the 24 hours or less cancellation policy. Also, their customer support is very slow. Sometimes urgent changes are required, and there is no way to speak or chat with a human.
