Uber's Uberx idea was inspired by Lyft, but today uber is 10X more valued than Lyft. The competition is cutthroat everywhere. Whichever product delivers more value, makes more user connection, moves faster will survive.

I find it odd how people can refer to this as inspired by snapchat when it's more a blatant rip off to pull back users.
Even more so that certain tech giant companies with all their innovative teams, and forward thinking mentality seem to concentrate so much on just ripping off another brands usp and patching it to theirs.
Either way, what ever my opinions, I do have to say in a business sense it is incredibly smart. Does this feature make sense for Instagram? Definitely, arguably even more so than Snapchat, as it's easier to find and follow people, combined with the fact that Instagram was more for posts to the public from the start.
So for that, brilliant move and congratulations.
I just wish that companies started focusing on true innovation instead of cheaply copying each other, it's a little sad, and the tech industry is better than this.
But again, money wise, a great move.
