Red flag: Cleanmymac optimization may destroy your mac - can not boot after optimization Conclusion: 1. This is a very serious issue, since customer mac stopped working and had to be reinstalled. 2. So far I don’t know root cause, macpaw support don’t seem to have more advice for me to follow. 3. Hence before touching any optimizations in Cleanmymac I strongly advise that you perform a complete backup of mac harddisk, s.t. you can restore if so required. Details: 1. I have been working with Cleanmymac scan part for long time with my mac customers. No issue so far. 2. However recently I tried the Cleanmymac optimization module. 3. After optimzations performed June 30, I restarted mac, but it never came back up, stuck with spinning wheel at appr. 1/3 of the progress bar. 4. Raised case with macpaw support, whatever they proposed did not help. 5. Hence at the end I had to reinstall mac. 6. Was in parallel trying to get help from experts at techtool (micromat) and paragon. They tried their best, but could tell me how to fix issue. Br Peter

This actually does nothing - it doesn't allow one to find duplicates so how does it clean ones Mac. It did help all the issues I was having in that my Mac was slow. And then I thought I could use it to clean my Mac by finding duplicates photos - NOOO that's not this product. So what does it actually do?????

I've purchased the CleanMyMac 3 and now with the updated MacOS Catalina software, CleanMyMac 3 is now useless unless I pay additional $$$ for the X version.

@henry_l I sincerely understand your concern, but I would like to clarify that One-Time purchase license is for unlimited access to CleanMyMac 3, which was designed for (macOS 10.9 - 10.14). CleanMyMac 3 was released in 2015 and, at the time, it used the latest tech achievements. However, adapting it to a newer macOS requires fundamental upgrades and many modifications. That’s why issuing another update for CleanMyMac 3 would pretty much mean building the product from the start — that's what we did with CleanMyMac X. We give our loyal customers a 50% discount to make CleanMyMac X more affordable.
