I've used the previous version before this and I have to say that when I upgraded, it was a drastic change! The UI looks X times better!!

Some of the functionalities that I love:

- Being able to do a scan of your Mac and removing the cache and unnecessary stuff (like deleted files)

- Seeing the ranking of your files from largest to smallest in size

- The Uninstaller (there are times where I would try and uninestall an app NOT through the CMM interface and the helper in the bar would notify me that there are some items that have not been fully removed.

- The ability to just make your computer run more smoothly w/ Reindexing of spotlight

- Shredding digital files (so they're unrecoverable for the sensitive files)

Pros:

GREAT UI | great uninstaller/cleaner | Does more than you think it does

Cons:

Cost

Why does it have to be so expensive for existing customers... Not updating because of that unfortunately. Especially since I only use Mac for my work. Looks beautiful though.

Unbelievably well crafted UI, but the app is too much in your face. I use my Mac for tasks other then maintenance. Let me repeat that: I use my Mac for tasks other than maintenance. Software like this should be able to run berried in the background without me even noticing it. CMM doesn't. And why in the world would you place a battery indicator when macOs already as a native one with all the information it's provided in CMM? And the memory bar? Is this 1984? Trust me, if it's actually useful for any user to check the available memory, those won't be the numbers he want's to see. It doesn't convey squat. Things like "freeing" memory? It's a load of crap. Memory cleaners work by claiming up all the memory to them selves and then release it. Thus, "freeing up memory". Except now, apps that you're actually running will need to claim that memory back, hence, more swap and more cpu cycles. Yes, cpu cycles and IO operations on your drive all over the place now. When an app needs memory the OS will take care of it. Cleaning memory yourself is just a waste of time on your part and actually contributes to the problem instead of fixing it. macOS is not great at cleaning up the mess, but when dealing with memory it does the finest job you could possible need. I also don't like that load of Marketing crap in the front page, like X times faster or 5x more space when it's not backed by methodology. With all said and done.. I've been using CMM for..2 maybe 3 years and I can't wait to click that Clean button again. ps. I've tried CMM X. I did not upgrade, and kept using CMM 3. I'll very likely do so in the future, when CMM 3 support is dropped.

This product destroyed my mac, see below Red flag: Cleanmymac optimization may destroy your mac - can not boot after optimization Conclusion: 1. This is a very serious issue, since customer mac stopped working and had to be reinstalled. 2. So far I don’t know root cause, macpaw support don’t seem to have more advice for me to follow. 3. Hence before touching any optimizations in Cleanmymac I strongly advise that you perform a complete backup of mac harddisk, s.t. you can restore if so required. Details: 1. I have been working with Cleanmymac scan part for long time with my mac customers. No issue so far. 2. However recently I tried the Cleanmymac optimization module. 3. After optimzations performed June 30, I restarted mac, but it never came back up, stuck with spinning wheel at appr. 1/3 of the progress bar. 4. Raised case with macpaw support, whatever they proposed did not help. 5. Hence at the end I had to reinstall mac. 6. Was in parallel trying to get help from experts at techtool (micromat) and paragon. They tried their best, but could tell me how to fix issue. Br Peter
