Matter - Read-it-later, reinvented

Best reading app ever. Best read-it-later app, too. Always have the stuff you want to read right in your pocket!

I abandoned Pocket and Instapaper for Matter, I really love this app! I love the newsletter forward feature, as well as the social aspect and recommendations. Text to speech is great, highlighting is seemless. And most importantly, syncs with Readwise! I love it!

Truly one of the best reading experiences. Yes, we can treat as a “save-for-later” but the magical aspect of Matter is the community and the way it surfaces the best reads. We now live in a world that constantly bombard us with information simply to maintain our attention and that’s often hard to navigate. Matter is changing that. The social aspect focuses around insights and sharing beautiful well-written pieces. And, that immediately changes the dynamics of the social network and the relationship with the content being shared and consumed. It’s nuanced, and hard to explain, but once you use it, you get it, and it’s hard to imagine a different experience thereafter. The audio component is also extremely handy well designed. I wish nothing but the best for this product!

I've been Matter for a year. It's amazing. Beyond dramatically improving my content consumption experience it's served for discovery to new content I wouldn't have found otherwise. Highly recommend it.

Love this product. The best reader out there hands down.

Matter works well on text-heavy sites but falls apart on sites that are image heavy and articles that have code blocks. Most of the times, it misses images and code blocks. It also fails to pick mixed rich formatting, e.g. italicized paragraphs with strongly emphasized text in between. In its current iteration, it is not going to replace Pocket for me but I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

I’ve been on the betas for almost a year and trust me: This is an incredible and joyful (is that possible?!) tool. Makes it easy to save and highlight all of the articles you find. It incorporates all of your newsletters in a single place that’s far more useful than your email inbox. Plus the serendipity of finding new articles from your more intentional, literary friends makes it an all-in-one educational platform for the self-taught.

I very recently discovered this app and have LOVED it as a read it later app. Instapaper and Pocket never quite hit the sweet spot for me. I love how Matter consolidates all my email newsletters into one places, syncs with Readwise, and overall provides a great reading experience.

Long time user of services like Instapaper and Read It Later (that became Pocket), and found out about the beta of Matter from @mgsiegler months ago. After using the product as my primary reader now and seeing the evolution and responsiveness of @benspringwater & team, I am just adding another voice that this is a great product already with a lot of upside. Keep it up Matter team!
