We built Memmy for a pretty simple reason: we were hopping between Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex too — and every switch meant re-explaining project context, preferences, and the last landmines we hit. Exhausting.

So we made a local shared memory layer: different agents read and write the same context, and the data stays on your machine by default. After install you can scan the history you already have, so you’re not starting from an empty box; then it keeps capturing and recalling as you work.

A simple try path: install Memmy → connect the agents you already live in → scan your existing chat history → then work as usual. Oh this would be life-changing! I am curious, though, does this help Claude Code, etc., identify the right pieces of memory? Often, I've noticed that these AI models latch onto some obscure instance in the past and make decisions based on it. How do you ensure the memory being accessed is always relevant?

 Great question. Memmy doesn’t dump the whole store into Claude Code. On each request it runs parallel retrieval, then relevance thresholds, dedup, MMR, and a final filter — only the most relevant snippets get injected. You can also check Memory Logs to see what was considered, dropped, and actually injected.

 Once the Claude Code hook is on, recall and capture happen automatically. If you’ve got better ideas or real “it latched onto the wrong memory” cases, ping us anytime — happy to explore better fixes together 🙌

Letting external agents both read memory and write new experience back closes the loop beautifully. That is what real continuity needs.

 Exactly — read-only context is useful, but continuity comes from a controlled feedback loop. Agents need a way to contribute new experience, decisions, and corrections back to memory, while users retain clear visibility and control over what becomes durable knowledge.

I really like the idea of giving different AI tools a shared memory instead of starting from scratch every time. Local-first is also a big plus. Feels like a very practical approach!

Congratulations! This will be very helpful! Are there any plans to extend with optional remote memory? For example, if I switch to Claude Code from my mobile it would very helpful to have the same capabilities continued on all devices.

 Yep, that’s the obvious next step. Right now, switching devices means manually bringing the local memory database with you — there’s no seamless sync yet.

We’re planning an optional remote store, but we don’t want cloud to become mandatory just to get continuity. Your phone → Claude Code example is pretty much the use case. Would love your upvote, and definitely kick the tires on the local version meanwhile.
