There is a big problem with MGX: when I define what I want, agents start building without considering the scope. This leads to consuming all the free tokens without showing anything to free users. There is an easy fix for this. Scope Enforcement: Ensure agents validate the scope before execution. Implement a pre-check mechanism that limits token usage based on defined objectives.
Progressive Execution: Instead of consuming all tokens upfront, break the process into stages, allowing partial results before using more tokens.
User Confirmation Step: Before executing large tasks, prompt users to confirm token expenditure, ensuring they are aware of the cost.
Optimized Execution Strategy: Prioritize efficient token usage by optimizing the build process, reducing redundant computations.
@payam_hoveidi Thank you for this detailed and constructive feedback. You've identified a crucial issue and provided excellent suggestions for improvement. We completely agree that better token management and user control are essential.
We're actively working on implementing these exact improvements - particularly the staged execution and user confirmation features. Your suggestion about scope validation before execution is spot-on and will help users better manage their token usage.
Your insights would be valuable as we refine these improvements.
In the meantime, we've noted your feedback and will prioritize these enhancements in our upcoming updates. Thank you for helping us make MGX better! 🙏
@payam_hoveidi Thank you for this valuable feedback! You've identified a key area for improvement in MGX.
We're already working on implementing scope validation before execution and a progressive build approach that delivers partial results along the way. Your suggestions about user confirmation steps and execution optimization are excellent - these align perfectly with our development roadmap.
We want free users to experience the value of MGX without hitting token limits unexpectedly. Your practical solutions will help us make the platform more transparent and efficient.
Your insights are incredibly helpful as we refine the user experience.
@payam_hoveidi Thank you for your detailed feedback. You must have experienced MGX in depth. We will carefully consider your suggestions in combination with our roadmap, and improve the user experience in the next version, so that free users can have more valuable application output.
@payam_hoveidi Thank you for your detailed and constructive feedback! 🙌 We truly value your insights and completely understand the importance of addressing scope management and token efficiency. Your suggestions, such as scope enforcement, progressive execution, user confirmation, and optimized strategies, are incredibly thoughtful and align with our vision for improving MGX. We're continuously working to enhance the user experience, and feedback like yours helps us prioritize meaningful updates. Stay tuned for improvements—we’re committed to making MGX more efficient and user-friendly! 🚀
And that’s just the start! Your creativity is the real limit—who knows what unique ideas you’ll bring to life next? Because honestly, every fresh idea is next-level awesome. Can’t wait to see your magic at work!

@zongze_x I am a subscriber of the 70 $, but I feel that I am using it too quickly.
@_tg2333_ With the right usage techniques (like vibe coding), MGX is actually two orders of magnitude cheaper than human developers. Our multi-agent approach significantly reduces costs by allowing each specialized agent to focus only on relevant contexts, eliminating wasted computational resources. This specialization not only improves efficiency but also delivers higher quality results through purpose-built agents working in concert, similar to how effective teams operate.
@_tg2333_ As an architect of the MGX team, the rapid consumption of tokens does cause you some trouble. We have updated some optimization strategies for saving tokens, and more are on the way. At the same time, it is recommended to try the remix operation, which will bring you unexpected results.

This looks really interesting, would love to try! I'm very bullish on multi-agent systems. Congrats on the launch and good luck! 👏
How does it compare with current tools like Devin, or IDEs like Cursor?
@new_user__1942023a9284e5313298d03 Thanks for asking! MGX takes a fundamentally different approach from Cursor and Devin. While they focus on being AI coding assistants, MGX leverages MetaGPT's multi-agent framework (45k+ stars on GitHub) to simulate a complete development team.
Think of it like this: instead of a single AI assistant, MGX provides specialized AI agents that collaborate like a real team. Each agent has specific expertise and responsibilities, working together seamlessly through structured SOPs.
Our research paper 'MetaGPT: Meta Programming for A Multi-Agent Collaborative Framework' (https://arxiv.org/abs/2308.00352) details this unique approach, which is fully open-source.
Currently, we excel at web development with various templates and Supabase backend integration, while maintaining project context through iterations. Would love to hear what kind of development work you're interested in! 🚀
@new_user__1942023a9284e5313298d03 Thank you for your kind words and interest in MetaGPT X (MGX)! We're excited about its potential too.
MetaGPT X differentiates itself from tools like Devin and Cursor by taking a multi-agent architecture approach to software development. Here's how it compares:
Architecture: Unlike single-agent systems, MGX employs specialized agents (like product managers, architects, engineers, and QA) that work together with distinct roles and goals—similar to how human teams collaborate.
Context Efficiency: Each agent only processes relevant context, significantly reducing token consumption compared to single-agent approaches.
Specialized Expertise: With dedicated agents for specific tasks, MGX delivers higher quality outcomes—architects focus on stable system design, engineers on implementation, QA on testing, etc.
Extensibility: New agents can be easily added to the system without extensive customization.
Independent Evolution: Individual agents can be optimized separately, allowing for targeted improvements.
Would you be interested in trying out MGX? We'd love to hear about your specific use cases!
@new_user__1942023a9284e5313298d03 Thank you so much for the kind words! 🙌 MGX stands out by offering a fully collaborative multi-agent system with personified roles like PMs and architects, making it feel like a real virtual team. While tools like Devin and Cursor are great, MGX focuses on structured teamwork and real-world SOP integration. We’d love to hear your thoughts once you try it out! 🚀
@sentry_co Of course, you can check out different examples in Appworld (https://mgx.dev/). You're welcome to try them out, and we look forward to further discussions with you in our Discord community (https://discord.gg/ZRHeExS6xv).
