Minted - Expense Tracker - An expense tracker that separates essentials from extras

by
When I got my first job I wasn’t budgeting or tracking expenses, and it slowly started sneaking up on me. I built Minted to fix that. Every expense is tagged as essential or non-essential, so you can see your base monthly costs (rent, groceries, gym) versus extras (going out, clothes, gadgets). It makes it clear what must stay and where you can cut back.

Hey everyone, new maker here The idea for Minted came from a pretty simple place. When I got my first job I realized I wasn’t budgeting at all and expenses slowly started sneaking up on me. I tried a bunch of expense tracking apps but none really clicked for me. I also care a lot about design and most of them just felt… bad to use. So I started building the one I wanted. The main idea is tagging every expense as essential or non-essential. Rent, groceries, gym, bills are essentials. Going out, clothes, gadgets are non-essential. That split made it way easier for me to see what my real monthly cost of living is. I also added paycheck-based periods, some simple analytics, repeat purchase detection, and spending comparisons with your last period. It basically evolved from “I need this for myself” into the app you see here. Happy to hear feedback or feature ideas
