Monk was born from my own struggle.
A quick glance at my phone would often spiral into hours of scrolling I never planned.
It wasn’t about willpower; it was a habit loop I had built.
As I looked into it further, I realized I wasn’t alone. Millions of us instinctively reach for our phones the moment boredom hits. That’s when I knew this problem was bigger than me, and it’s what inspired me to build Monk.
So I started digging into the science and found two powerful ideas:
Craving Delay: pausing right before the impulse hits.
Habit Stacking: replacing that impulse with a small, mindful action.
And that’s exactly what Monk does:
It interrupts the craving moment by blocking the distracting apps.
Then it redirects you to complete a habit first and lets you unlock the apps once you’ve finished it.
And if something urgent comes up, Monk gives you a limited number of daily unlocks so you can access apps intentionally rather than impulsively.
This is just the first step in our mission to help people reclaim their precious time and be more present.
We need your support to keep moving forward and make this mission a reality. 🙏
I have been facing this issue for quite some time and felt guilty after watching all those reels ..excited to see how this app going to help..kudos to the team..
As a person, who constantly unlocks blocked apps through iPhone's screen time, I really appreciate the limited daily unlocks feature. Congrats on the launch!
Would love to have your feedback on the app. Please try the app as well.

I used Monk to block Instagram, and it reduced my screen time dramatically. I have gone DAYS without as much as launching Instagram, when I had the habit of launching the app a dozen times a day.
For all this reclaimed time, I’d be more than happy to pay for this app.

Monk has definitely helped me reduce my social media time - delaying the craving even for a few seconds helps, who knew!

@pankajsinghbora and team have made a great and thoughtful app that makes use of iOS screen time capabilities to block apps in a way that Apple has completely failed to do over the years. If you’ve ever wanted to control your phone usage and have found Apple’s native settings miss the mark, give Monk a look. It’s also been awesome to see the progress from one TestFlight update to the next.
