Anything Nick creates is an insta-buy for me. This feels like a no brainer! Congrats on the launch!
Imagine you being the architect of a new home you have envisioned building for years but don’t know how to.
Imagine someone who has done this for years and brought you into his home. Showing you the rooms, the rationale of the design for each room, and the secret pathways to rooms you never knew you needed. Then he leads you into another room to show you how you can build one for yourself using the tools that you have.
Inspired, you go back to your building project and know what steps to take instead of being lost. You know what tool to use to build the design you want because you were shown how to.
Three main reasons why this course is excellent if you are thinking about it.
Teaches not just obsidian but note making:
This is more than just how to use obsidian as a note-taking app. It’s an education in note-making itself.
It’s beautiful:
The joyful colours from the LYT theme created by Nick, is not only aesthetically pleasing but also achieve the intended effect of showing how aesthetics play an essential role in the note-making process. I downloaded the same theme on my vault, which made me want to go back repeatedly for beautiful note-making.
Gamification:
Gamification science works in real-time in this course. There is a positive engagement loop that improves performance. The boots were fun and challenging and made me want to go back and play them again to improve my score. It’s fun and addictive. This itself made this course different from the others in the same space.
To a product well produced and made even better! Congratulations Nick!
This is fantastic, @jonathan_israel1! We really appreciate you not just taking the time to support us, but highlighting so much of what you enjoyed. Thanks again!

Congratulations to Nick, Keaton, and everyone else involved in making this product! I attended the live demo presentation yesterday and was very impressed with the effort you all put in to bring this product up to date with the current version of Obsidian, even including the new Canvas plugin (released just a few weeks ago) that is generating a lot of interest and excitement in the Obsidian community.
In addition to what others have said in the comments above, I was also delighted to learn that the content includes coverage of dozens of community plugins as well as a method for keeping track of them all - a very welcome addition for someone like me; I've been hesitant to experiment with what is for me an overwhelming (and slightly intimidating) number of available plugins.
I have not used the previous version of OFS, but I have downloaded OFS 2.0 and am excited to dive in!
Thank you so much for sharing, @cdh2060! I'm really glad you enjoyed the live event yesterday and I can't wait for you to take to the skies in OFS 2.0!

I loved Obsidian Flight School 1.0 It was an immense help in my PKM journey (Linked notes and becoming a note maker, what more can I say) -I can't wait to see the new version. Highly recommend it.
@yvette_skinner So great to hear, Yvette - thank you for sharing and I hope you enjoy the new update!

Nick and his team have been absolutely essential in helping me get a grip on modern knowledge management. What I love about this guy and his products is the constant iteration. I've been a student of LYT for 2 years now (as well as the original Flight School), and I can safely say, they never stop improving. In the age of internet gurus, Nick is the real deal.
I use the skills I've learned from him (and his community) on a daily basis and I cannot overstate how much of an impact his courses have had on both the quality of content we are producing and my personal productivity.
You have my word as a random (and very satisfied) stranger on the internet... you won't regret supporting this product.
Hey, @david_bickley - great to see you here! The whole team really appreciates you taking the time to share such impactful words here. I hope to cross paths in the LYT Community again sometime. Until then, I hope you take to the skies with Obsidian Flight School 2.0 and enjoy the new updates!

I was brand new to Obsidian. 🤔 Now what? How do I learn this? Discovered Obsidian Flight School (OFS) v1 and worked through the exercises. They were fun! A challenging game with the real reward of comfort and agility in the software. Even after "graduating" from Flight School, I kept going back to it. The "reps" keep my moves in shape. Plus, I can train in skills still sinking in. OFS Version 2 is going to be awesome. Nick Milo's preview event showed how he and his team meticulously updated the lessons as current and robust as possible (e.g., covering new hotkeys, plugins). Obsidian Flight School is a gift to anyone looking to learn or stay sharp in Obsidian. 🎁 Thank you for the work and care you put into all you do! I'm downloading OFS v2 now.
Hi @jennifer_smith99, I'm glad you enjoyed yesterday's live event and really hope you've been enjoying OFS v2 today! The whole team appreciates you taking the time to share here.
I really love the way you put it, "A challenging game with the real reward of comfort and agility in the software." - you worded it fantastically.

An outstanding tool teaching you how to employ Obsidian as your second brain at the speed of thought.

Flight schools method to help you “lean in” with obsidian and get the best practices out the gate is one of the BEST investments I’ve ever made as I seek to improve my relationship to ideas, knowledge, and productivity of using Obsidian. In less than 2 weeks I was flying with best practices because I was using obsidian to learn obsidian.
Imagine if Microsoft Excel had an easy to follow, fun, interactive, and insanely insightful training built into Excel to help you practice live as you got the hang of such an in-depth tool?
The use cases of obsidian are endless and the way Nick teaches you to use it with OFS, both genius and priceless. I’ve been flying in obsidian and have not looked back since.
@kian_mokhbery, you said, "In less than 2 weeks I was flying with best practices because I was using obsidian to learn obsidian."
That really is the difference isn't it. Working IN the system to learn it is such a game-changer.
Thanks a lot for the support today, I'll see you around the LYT Community!

OFS 2.0 is just an excellent upgrade to an already awesome product. If one puts in the time, you can't help but become an Obsidian Jedi working on all the informative, exciting and challenging exercises Nick and the awesome LYT team created. This just reenforces the joy of expressive, insightful note creating. I am an alumni of Workshop 8 and that was a great experience as well. The LYT team are rock stars for this great product!
Thanks a lot for the support today, @ebertm! It means a lot that you took the time to share not only what a difference OFS made for you but also the LYT Workshop as well. I hope you enjoy the 2.0 update and I'll see you around the LYT Community! 😃

I was already obsessed with 1.0 so can only imagine how I'll feel about 2.0! I originally joined as part of my desperate search to stop app-hopping (success!) but got something SO much more valuable. The way I view ideas and approach learning/creating has changed forever. I've gone from feeling like an idea/note hoarder to an idea developer -- the more I used to consume/think, the more I felt like I was just moving/expanding sideways but now I'm able to sit down each day and make forward motion. Motion that continually increases the value of my knowledge not to mention my excitement about what I'm creating. Thanks for creating this incredible product (not to mention all of the free content you've published that supports it!)
Thanks a lot, @iamkatelizabeth! I know that app-hopping all too well (I've finally stopped with Obsidian too).
I really like how you've worded it, "I've gone from feeling like an idea/note hoarder to an idea developer" - you've worded this and your whole post so wonderfully.
Thank you for taking the time to support us!
