Obsidian - A powerful knowledge base that works on local Markdown files

Hi Guys! Congrats on the launch. For someone who has been taking notes in md format over the years, this is a great addition. My current workflow is pretty straightforward, take notes using VSCode in md format, sync with Github. It is -free -fast -familiar and now Obsidian will give me more control! I was using Notion for note-taking. While Notion gives the flexibility to build powerful, it's too "fancy" for note-taking. As it doesn't work offline and it has too many functionalities, it's too slow to my liking when I want to quickly jot down something. Stangely, the way where I discover Obsidian is when Notion introduce backlink, a Reddit post mentioned Obsidian. I tried it and love it. And the development speed gave me a lot of confident in putting my knowledge in them. Also I used it for my work. My company is very strict on using cloud-based service so Notion / Evernote / Roam Research is not an option. Obsidian is perfect for that.

Tried it again after about 6 months. Lots of improvements. Good experience.

This is the best app i had ever found on product hunt ever. I have been using this for some months now. Really great user experience. Kudos to the team behind this.

Great app! I actually like this more than Roam and have converted. The only thing I don't have that I want is the ability to be in Preview mode by default. Love the app and can't wait for the ability to sync it to an iOS app!

Such an amazing piece of software, I discovered it last week and am fully hooked. The interface is beautiful, the dev community is awesome, and it is changing the way I organize all of my thoughts and ideas. The value of graph view where you can see all the connected nodes can not be overstated. Absolutely amazing!
