I like it because there's a desktop version.I stay more focusesd. It helps me structure my stream of consciousness.
Roam Research is useful when I'm collecting information from multiple tabs because it's a webapp.

+1 for future-proofing with flatfile and markdown!

I've been using Obsidian for a few hours now and it's looking very promising!
My previous notetaking app of choice is : some good ol' fashioned organization + textexpander + github to store and sync + typora as the editor of markdown files
Obsidian might be my new no.1 choice because:
1. offline first π
2. open fileformat first (it's just markdown files)
3. it has bidirectional links π π
4. I opened my folder of markdown files in my original system of typora and github. Boom! It just works!
What would make it undisputed no.1 choice?
1. When it gets to Typora's level of UX. With the auto render of markdown. Which is not there yet.
2. And when it's as obsessive about keyboard shortcuts like Typora
I've been a happy user for a few weeks now. It's already my daily driver with a few hundred files under management. Extremely slick, intuitive, and created by the nicest bunch of people (at least based on the Discord space). Sure it's a little buggy but that's part of the charm at the moment. The releases are *very* frequent and well communicated. It is already better than substitutes that have been developed for years, or many cases decades.
Other than the product, it is just ingenious to spread a closed beta through invites to a Discord server. You get immediate authentic interface with your users and a massive headstart with community-building. I'm definitely taking that path for my next product.
Your markdown stays portable and since it's just markdown it integrates nicely with imdone.io for kanban

This is really good tool I was looking for long time. Typora level of writing capabilities and integration with HOOK app will make this superior.

You just saved my mental health with this tool. Local files, CSS customization, Linked notes, Zettletasken use, tags... The custom CSS allow my to forget about the WYISWYG stuff and being free to justify my text, making things clear. Folding hierarchical list just like Dynalist (which does not work in local files), and multiple folders... The software is quick and fluid, and become my main work tool. Thank you.
A "typewriter" cursor which stays at the center of page while I am typing would really be perfect
An "outline view" like a plugin in a panel would be nice.
Thank you for your software.
