Your 20% Shopify Sale Might Be an Offer Stack
Seller: I'm about to run 20% off.
Me: Can it combine with a welcome code?
Seller: Yes. And free shipping.
Me: Then you are not publishing one offer.
You are publishing a stack.
Shopify can combine eligible product, order, and shipping discounts when the store settings allow it.
The order matters:
1. Product discount
2. Order discount
3. Shipping discount
So the headline on the banner may not describe what one completed order actually gives away.
Before publishing a promotion, I would check four things:
- Which discounts are active?
- Which combinations are enabled?
- What shipping cost will the store absorb?
- What will one order leave after the effective offer?
I am building the current free Okiela beta around the last question.
It starts with one product or offer. It does not connect to the store for the first check, and it should not pretend to know a live discount stack that the seller has not supplied.
The product question I need real Shopify sellers to answer is this:
When you evaluate a promotion today, do you model the headline discount or the complete stack that can reach checkout?
What do you use: a spreadsheet, test checkout, an app, or memory?
No link in this post. I want to understand the real workflow first.
