Hey Product Hunt! We built osmAgent because we felt a gap between AI chat tools and real productivity. Most AI tools can generate answers, but they can’t actually do things on your computer. We wanted an AI that could go beyond conversation and truly operate as a desktop agent — managing files, automating browsers, connecting with services, and even responding on WhatsApp. The core problem we’re trying to solve is fragmentation. Today, workflows are spread across many tools — chat apps, automation tools, integrations, scripts, and APIs. Our goal with osmAgent was to bring all of this into one AI-powered desktop environment where the agent can reason, use tools, and complete tasks end-to-end. During development, our approach evolved a lot. Initially we focused on building a simple AI desktop assistant, but we quickly realized the real power comes from tool access and integrations. That led us to bundle 100+ tools and 9 MCP connectors directly into the app, so users don’t need complicated setups or external automation platforms. Another interesting evolution was the WhatsApp integration. We thought it would just be a convenience feature, but it turned into something powerful — a two-tier system where you can interact with the full agent yourself, while others interact with your AI personal assistant. We’re really excited to share osmAgent with the Product Hunt community and would love your feedback. What would you want an AI desktop agent to automate for you?
